How do you save for web? It looks really confusing.

File - Save for Web and Devices.

Or Alt+Shift+Ctrl+S

How do you get a website made on Dreamweaver onto the internet?

Get a domain, get some hosting, upload all the files via FTP.

On the right, under the 3 buttons, theres a drop down list called "preset", select "JPEG High". Then click on save.

I'm not sure of the best place for hosting these days. Depends how much you want to spend.

1) Sweet thanks

2) Oh right...what does hosting mean exactly? Is that different from buying a domain name?

lol you want to run a website...

http://www.godaddy.com

Check that website to get a rough idea of how much it will cost and you can find out if the domain is free.

I know Sarka has used Go Daddy but you should look around after you know how much you want to pay etc.

Once you have all your web pages in dreamweaver you need to upload them somewhere.

If your site's not going to be huge, don't bother with a domain name and webspace, just start somewhere like http://www.freewebs.com, and upload all the files in their file manager.

If you do buy a domain and webspace, I'm sure the company who sold them to you will explain how to get the site up and running, and give you an FTP username and password. FTP is...er... actually I don't know for sure what it stands for, but I'm gonna go on a hunch and say File Transfer Protocol. It's basically a way of uploading to the internet. You can upload files that way.

For example, put this in your Windows explorer address bar: ftp://n-europe.com

Obviously you can't actually upload/change anything without a username and password.

You can also get dedicated FTP transfer software, like cuteftp and WS_ftp (the latter was always my favourite).

But if you're new to running a website, I really suggest you start with a free host.

Cool. I do plan on buying a Dot Com...so will that effect things.

Will be exactly the same as what Shorty said, just that most places pricing on .com's is slightly more than your .co.uk's and .net's.
