Cube Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 I did a search on the forum, only found one post (by Aimless) in the meaningless post of the day thread. (It isn't exactly new news, hence the retro section, but it's interesting) Totaka's Song is basically a short, 19 note, looping song, found in games composed by Kazumi Totaka. The earliest example is a game called "X" (although was only found in extracted music files, not in the actual game itself), the simplest discovery is Mario Paint. It's been found in Mario Paint, Animal Crossing (64, GC and DS), Links Awakening, Super Mario Land 2, Wario Ware (Virtual Boy), Yoshi's Story, Pikmin 2, Yoshi's Touch & Go, and Luigi's Mansion (plus a few more) Someone has made 3 videos on YouTube about the song. The still has yet to be found in some games like Wave Race 64 and Wii Sports. I love small things like this when it comes to games.
Blue_Ninja0 Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 I love small things like this when it comes to games. Yep. Same here. It's the little nintendo secret that has been appearing since the NES and will continue indefinitely. It's incredible how can they find the music without any tip on how to find it. ROM editing perhaps.
Kurtle Squad Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Shoudln't it be tune since there isn't singing...I HATE that huge mistake people ALWAYS make. I guess it can be let go since KK Slider 'sings' though:heh: I bet the Wii Sports one's on some high score thing....or when you get a 20 fitness age and eave it or something similar,
mcj metroid Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 not really songs can be instrumental. like albatros
Kurtle Squad Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Song: 1. a short metrical composition intended or adapted for singing, esp. one in rhymed stanzas; a lyric; a ballad. 2. a musical piece adapted for singing or simulating a piece to be sung: Mendelssohn's “Songs without Words.” 3. poetical composition; poetry. 4. the art or act of singing; vocal music. 5. something that is sung. 6. an elaborate vocal signal produced by an animal, as the distinctive sounds produced by certain birds, frogs, etc., in a courtship or territorial display.
The Bard Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 You know, this is in so many games it's ridiculous. The most recent one was Animal Crossing I think.
Tellyn Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I just watched those videos by the Phil guy, they are really interesting.
