Its more than dire. The drop in January is huge and it doesnt look like Febuary will be any better. On the other side, MS owns America. 25 months on the trot xbox has been #1 on the NPD.

Hence why when they were rolling in bundles of cash they should of been expanding the terms internally to prepare for HD. They are behind the curve and no doubt have struggled with HD development and are now playing catch up. A head start on the competition which will be miniscule at best. They have blown the window they had with no 'new' competition.

Very true. I guess they are talking about a reduced trade price so they have more room to price cut? I read retailers pay £246 for a premium console, that to me is big margin they are getting from the sale to consumer. Not sure nintendo can do another price cut. Going forward will not hurt them as again it will be a console reduced in price after 3 months so come the next hardware release people are just going to expect it.

When did the developer write it off completley. He simply mentioned that other developers were talking about cancelled wii u games. I dont think that is hard to believe when you look at the current status of the console.

Have a look at how many Wii U consoles and games are being sold. You think its that much of a stretch to think projects are being cancelled when the console sales are tanking in every region.

Its a disaster. Even the biggest pessimist would never of said it would drop to selling 55k in the States within 3 months. I really think they have misread the market with the Wii U. I think nintendo have banked on all those people that bought wii's would just line up and purchase the Wii U. It's going to be one long rough road and I would be shocked if there isnt some casualties. I dont want to lay all the blame on NOA as I dont really know how much power they have. I dont think Reggie would of slept well last night though. These numbers are horrific and there needs to be some responsibility and some answers to why this was allowed to happen. I dont think stuff like Wii U Fit is going to change much either. The software sales have to be so low right now as well. I think the VC is relevant. I think there are even nintendo fans sitting on the fence with the wii u and things like no vc on launch gives them another reason not to bite.

55k in a five week reporting period. That's so bad!! The console can bounce back but before then sales are going to be brutal. I want to say I'm surprised but you look at the releases and how they have marketed the console and you see there is a huge problem. Remember the game cube never bounced back so there is no guarantee of that. PS3+Wii = 300k so unless the PS3 sold more than 245k then the wii u sold less than a console that has been dead for 2 years.

Not confirmed yet but if that ends up being the number then Reggie as well as others in management will be lucky to keep there jobs. 55k in Jan with no games coming means we could see 30k in feb. Yikes. Third parties are not going to go near the wii u until sales increase tenfold. Nintendo have messed the launch up so bad in every region. Reliant on the 3DS now as the wii u sales are only going to get worse.

Well I think Nintendo are changing things going forward and will be making sure we see a lot more localisations going forward. It's always good to see what games Japan will be getting!! You have to remember Japan is where we are gonna get the 3DS games. Western developers/publishers dont care about handheld gaming!!

And thats the biggest point. Its about filling the 3DS library with a mixture of a varied genre of games. Like what we had with the DS. The 3DS is is now getting to the place which we all knew it would.

I dont want the Wii U to get it as well. Generally nintendo hardware should have its own software and only in a few occasions should we see the same game released for both systems.

If sony announce a 4G vita then it really shows they have learnt nothing.

Because as long as it plays great then the graphics being below the wii version doesnt really matter.
