DS useless? How's about live streaming of Pearl/Diamond data to the Wii?
-
Is it just me, or did that japanese commentator say you're able to control your Pokémon with your DS?

I believe we can safely assume this is an M-title, given that the demand for the public to enter their date of birth in order to view the site is any valid indication...

Scusi if this has been mentioned before, but, according to Gamespot, the $499 version won't have WiFi either. Nice goin'

'tallica?! How about some Slayer? At least they don't yell at their fans for anticipating their albums...

Moehahaha, I've got it to work through the sony playstation site! Now I can laugh along!

Someone should listen to this again when it's all over, and count the number of "uhhh"'s.

Oró? I'm using that internal browsery gamespot media player (via windows media player 10, I guess). Standard for my offline media, I use BSplayer.

Yo Yogi Bear, how'd you get the gamespot video to work? I've been getting audio only for as long as I've known gamespot...

Same critique applies to the IGN rumours. As I said before, until Nintendo themselves go official on the whole thing, nothing and nobody is to be believed without discretion. -
It is a fact that no new Rare Limited titles will appear on the Revo, however, with older games, I don't believe this is as firm a fact. Look at Square-Enix (disconcerning autonomous developer status), for example. They'll allow FF titles on the Virtual Console, even though they have an exclusivity contract with Sony right now.

?! I COULDN'T POSSIBLY EXPRESS MY JOY IN MERE WORDS!!! (unless they'd port pd0 of course, then I would kill myself)

The only thing that defines a "generation" of consoles, is the market: when it is saturated, the companies must find new ways to earn new money. The result? Next-gen.

That's because the DS isn't in direct competition with the PSP. The latter is an attempt at portable multimedia, while the first is a successful and new way of portable gaming. Same goes for the Revolution versus PS3 and XBOX360. Even with their prices reduced, Sony and Microsoft still won't be in direct competition with Nintendo. -
Most likely, the price'll be in the $149-area. The price will only negatively affect it's credibility when it's beneath $50. I don't know anyone (literally, anyone) who'll be so vague and naive as to judge a console solely by it's price tag: "value for money"-thinking is quite the trend

Look, at the rate the current and future architecture of the Personal Computer exponentially evolves every year or so, the graphical aspect of any current next-gen console will be rendered irrelevant within three years. What then is to seperate the sheep from the wolf, keeping the games and their concepts fresh and innovative? The interface. And that's when Nintendo are going to laugh quite heartily. For the umptieth time, comparison and derogation between any of the next-gen consoles is useless until we see a finished product. Of course, everyone's free to form their own opinion, but this whole thread is becoming contradictory to the very definition of a forum (which implies a constructive discussion rather than parliament-like rabble). Good night -

Simple. Everything not stated by Nintendo in an official announcement is bogus. In other words, for most part this forum is erected around speculation -

Nintendo must be laughing their arses off right now. In any way, I know I am -

Because you're obviously not - yet - part of Nintendo's target audience The graphics battle results in rather a downward than upward spiral of neglecting the essence of gaming, as Nintendo have stated many times. That essence being fun. May I remind you, and everyone else raising the "HD!"-argument, that the penetration of HD in the market is not sufficient to provide support for it already. Confer the X-box-Live! thing. One generation too soon, and Nintendo are bound to do better this one. -

And the really cool thing is, if everything goes accordingly, years later they'll be fighting each other once again, as Nintendo will have opened the eyes of both Microsoft and Sony, who'll want a piece of the pie - as ever. -

Less denial, more acceptance? I'm sure you mean a more critical audience? IGN surely arent't Spong, but still, anyone can make up anything. IGN may be a self-acclaimed authority in the field, but they aren't omniscient. I'm not saying to be suspicious of every little thing you hear, but, especially when news contradicts itself, some criticism is appropriate - and this accounts towards both ends of the equation. -

Look, frankly, the whole "über-733t gRapHiX!!!"-thing doesn't bear any significance at all to me. If the Revo can dish out the same graphics the Cube can, it's fine by me. If the Revo suddenly becomes so "underpowered" it can only handle N64 visuals, that's still fine by me. As long as I can play with that controller, you won't hear me complaining - and anyone who's truly into gaming, shouldn't either.
