If you're slowing down with your light, you might not be doing the right level challenges. Do the vanguard strikes and daily heroics for the best gear you can get. Also, good tip: save up engrams over a long play session then, once you have plenty: Decrypt one engram check if it's higher light than what you're using If it's higher. equip it your new, higher light level means the next engram you decrypt has a higher change of being better also, when you do this, make sure you save any legendary (purple) engrams til the end. More chance you'll get something good that way.

Keys unlock chests and special events on patrol. They fit to some chests around the dreadnaught. So last night I got the raid quest from Eris - not sure what opened it up - but it also started showing rank 5 faction rewards. You can cash Hadium Flakes for the rotten shard things that improve Oryx's loot drops in King's Fall. So even if you have your sword, keep gathering it when you can. New raid is absolutely outstanding. On to the first boss but there's a huge chunk even before that. Mechanics are fantastic. Super complex. I got a sick fusion rifle too. It reloads when you switch it out for another weapon. Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk

This game is absolutely awesome. Even better for basically coming out of nowhere for me. Love the feel, love the pacing. The combat definitely has shades of Left 4 Dead - that element of conserving ammo, positioning and friendly fire. The game also does a great job at keeping the crazy pressure on and keeping you moving. Terrific game. Looking really healthy online too which is great.

Anyone playing this? I've been trying it out and...shit damn it's cool. For a low key MP in a story driven game it's proper excellent. Slow, tactical and tense rather than guns blazing which fits the game perfectly. Feeling the need for teams and mics though. Big time.

It's free to play with in game transactions. I actually talk about HS when I talk about F2P done right because the price model and everything is just handled really well. Have you played Magic: The Gathering or any other TCG? the principal is the same -you buy 'booster packs' of cards for either real cash or in game currency. The good thing is that the in game currency is pretty generous and, unlike mobile f2p there's no 'pay to win' or paywalling. In fact, the game is dominated by some of the cheapest decks in the meta - measured by real money or card value / rarity. The excellent game balancing also keeps the game in check of being a runaway for big spenders. I'd really recommend giving it a try as it's totally viable to play for free and get in to the game and any money you do spend is dependent on how much you value the game. Personally, it's one of my all time favourites so I've spent a decent amount. Horses for courses though innit/

Anyone else playing? This is my GOTY for 2014 and one of my all time favourites. For the uninitiated: HS is a free to play collectable card game by Blizzard that pits players against each other in tactical duels of minions, spells and weapons to see who has the best deck. It's clever, engrossing and driven by an extraordinary community of obsessive fans and dedicated pros. As you can probably tell, I'm in *deep* with this game. Anyone else??

Some good raid progress last night. Rez and I reached 32. Hurrah! Eric and I also got our grubby mitts on Black Hammer. There was much rejoicing. A few weeks in and it's pretty clear the new loot system is a big improvement. The more reliable armour drops combined with the 1/1 material exchange have made the jump to 32 so much less stressful.

Aaaaand it's gone!
