  1. This will sound contradictory as I’m quite excited about the Switch 2, however I didn’t pre-order one.

This is because I know I will be buying a switch 2 sooner or later but I’m in no rush to get it at launch, as there’s not much outside of Mario Kart, and as much as I love that series, I can wait.

My only concern about not getting one early is that with the recent price increase for the PS5 Pro and the Xbox Series consoles, that maybe the Switch 2 will get a price hike at some point in the next year and I’ll be kicking myself for not getting one early.

As for the games, DK and Mario Kart both look amazing.

Also I’m interested in how well Fortnite runs on Switch 2, as I play that game on a daily basis on my Switch 1, but it runs less than 30fps and the resolution drops significantly when too much is going on. The game almost looks completely different when I compare my screenshots to the ones my friends take on their consoles or PC.

  2. Its been delayed to May 26th 2026:

  4. There’s a new firmware update (2.0), adds quite a lot of stuff including Gameshare:

    Quote

    Ver. 20.0.0 (Released April 29, 2025)

The following icons for new features have been added to the HOME Menu:Virtual Game Card

Purchased Nintendo Switch digital software, DLC, and some free software, are now virtual game cards and displayed in a list in this menu.

You can virtually load and eject virtual game cards between up to two Nintendo Switch systems.

Virtual game cards can be lent to others in the same Nintendo Account family group. For more information, see Virtual Game Card Guide.

GameShareCompatible software can be shared from a Nintendo Switch 2 system to other nearby system(s) to play together.

You can only play together via local wireless, and the Nintendo Switch 2 system must initiate GameShare.

This feature cannot be used between two Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch – OLED Model and/or Nintendo Switch Lite systems.

User-Verification Settings has been added under User > User Settings.

You can restrict access to the Virtual Game Card menu by requiring entry of a PIN or signing in to your Nintendo Account.

Online License Settings has been added.

When turned on, you can play downloaded software or DLC you've purchased while the system is connected to the internet, even if you don't have the virtual game card loaded.

For more information, please refer to the details about the option on the System Settings screen.

The Nintendo eShop and Nintendo Switch Newsicon colors on the HOME Menu have been changed.

Multiple save data can be selected and transferred at once in “Transfer Your Save Data” menu.

System Transfer to Nintendo Switch 2 has been added under System Settings > System. You can perform a system transfer from your Nintendo Switch to Nintendo Switch 2 using local communication.

For users that will lose access to their Nintendo Switch before receiving their Nintendo Switch 2, there is an option to upload system transfer data to a dedicated server which can then be retrieved on their Nintendo Switch 2. After you upload your system transfer data to the dedicated server, the Nintendo Switch system will be initialized to factory settings, so only perform this transfer if you’ll be able to complete the transfer on Nintendo Switch 2.

If you want to continue using your Nintendo Switch until you have a Nintendo Switch 2, we recommend completing the system transfer using local communication after you have acquired a Nintendo Switch 2 system.

An internet connection and Nintendo Account is required to complete both local and the server-based system transfer service.

For more information, see System Transfer from Nintendo Switch to Nintendo Switch 2.

The appearance of some user icons have been updated.

  5. At the Switch 2 Experience in Tokyo over the weekend, they gave people a free magazine:

Nintendo Japan have made a free digital version magazine available on their website:

    https://www.nintendo.com/jp/topics/article/f1ef5869-e060-4ba6-acca-bb7e3f8f6990

For some reason the link only seems to work when I open it in an incognito window, but that might just be an issue with my browser. They seem to suggest an English version is on the way.

  6. Yeah, agree with a lot of what you both wrote. I enjoyed he main event of Night 1 and most of the matches over both nights, however the main event of Night 2:

    Spoiler

It made sense for Cena to defeat Cody. But the way they told that story was so poor that I am truly shocked that they went with that finish and that no one through the chain of command thought this was bad and changed it.

Compared to last year when we had all of those great run ins, this year we got a Rapper, who seemed to take the better part of two minutes to walk to the ring to interfere and get knocked out. He was just there as a distraction so Cena can attempt to knock out Cody with the belt.

Just watching the reactions afterwards and watching a few wrestling podcasts about it since and that seems to be the general feeling across the board.

On the plus side, Cenas promo at the start of Raw the following night was superb.

It was the first time I ever bought an import copy of a game along with the FreeLoader to play it. I think the game arrived like 3 days before the FreeLoader so I had to wait.

I also imported my copy of AC, as I was convinced it was never coming to Europe. I had read about it in N64 magazine for a long while and just assumed it was a game that would never come out of Japan because of how different it was to any other game at that time.

I remember I looked on eBay to find a US copy and was lucky enough to find a person in the UK who was selling one and it came with a Freeloader disc.

The person I brought it from had already started a save file on the memory card that came with the game and rather then start my own town, I thought I would check his town out of curiously before deleting it and making my own, but it seems the previous owner had unlocked every single NES game and basically turned the second villagers home in a little arcade with them all lined up, even the unobtainable games.

So I decided I won't delete it and that I would just take over one of the save slots/villagers by deleting them and creating my character and move in to this pre-set village. Barely anything had been done in the village so it was almost like a new save file aside from the NES game house and that became the Town i played in for years.

I can't really add anything to the praise this game gotten already from @Cube and @BowserBasher other then to say I just enjoyed playing it so much. I remember printing patterns from AC fansites on our printer so that I could recreate them in my game. I also remember how dedicated to it at the time, having favorite villagers I didn't want to leave and trying to fill up the museum and catch every fish. Also, Camofrog was rude to me once so I sent him a letter with some rubbish attached as a gift lol

I was so thankful Nintendo released it outside of Japan at the time because its now one of my favorite game series. And of course, Nintendo must be pretty happy too as its now one of their best selling games. Funny enough I went back to playing the Switch version this week and I seem to be hooked again.

  8. I just watched through it. We didn't really learn that much than what we knew already across the initial reveal and the Treehouse streams but it was nice to see it all explained in one video.

I don't understand why they don't just have the characters and then you pick the outfits. You get to a point where scrolling through all those screens will be a pain.

Yeah, I've very surprised it isn't handled that way. Maybe they'll have an option to change the menu to be like that, much how Smash Brothers has an option to make it so Echo fighters share the same slot on the character selection screen.

  10. I just watched through this documentary about Wrestlemania IX, which something I never thought they would do as it's not known as a particular great PPV but it was one of the first times they made Wrestlemania a true Spectacle with a redesigned set as well as it taking place in Las Vegas, and it turned out to be the first time they recorded footage backstage while the event was being set up and running.

I absolutely loved it, as they had a lot of behind the scenes footage from a time when they absolutely never did that kind of thing, to protect the gimmicks of the characters, but you get to see them all hanging out, laughing and chatting with each other as well as crazy stuff like all the animals they had backstage for the various entrances as well as you get to see the wrestlers in modern day look back at the footage and reminisce and talk about what was happening at that time.

It was very interesting to hear the stuff going on backstage at the time. For example, Lex Lugar says he thinks thinks Mr Perfect had "too much caffeine that day" (lol) as once he got in the ring he uncharacteristically had no idea what to do in the match and kept asking Lex "what are we doing".

Undertaker talks about how difficult it was to wrestle Giant Gonzalaz and they even talk about Gonzalaz ring attire and what it was originally supposed to look like compared to how it looked once they made the suit.

And of course the controversy over the ending of Bret being cheated out of the the title by Yokuzuna only for Hulk Hogan to get a match and win it minutes later. Even as a Hulk Hogan fan I wasn't 100% on board with that at the time.

Its worth watching if you are nostalgic for that era. Sadly its not available to watch officially outside US, but its out there.

  11. I am not sure exactly what this is but it seems like there are extra temporary vehicles on the tracks that you can change into ?

I guess the trailer in the Direct showed a driver driving into the inside of a truck and then controlling that for a short while so I assume it’s the same situation here but with some kind of hovercraft.
