Yeah, games do make people violent. Everytime I see some poor sucker buy a copy of 50 Cent: Bulletproof or GTA, it makes me want to put a bullet between the eyes of all the media reps that have publicised these games. Also, I play tekken and Marvel VS Capcom at lunch at school, and me and my mates replicate some of the characters moves, such as the Haduken And Optic Blast, and I have to say, the fatality rate is pretty high. But really, on a serious note, It's only people that don't have any stable role models in real life that go looking for someone to base their actions on in a videogame. But in all honesty, all types of media evoke emotions so strong that you want to act on them, Books, movies, and videogames. For example, everytime I see some chav raving on about how Halo is better than Metroid Prime, it induces a hatred in me so strong, it could destroy entire continents.

My thoughts on Metroid Prime 2...
The Bard replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Haha, yeah, the first time I played through the game, I was wondering around for ages...and then I was like, "Hang on...Is the rain over there splattering in mid air?" So i jumped towards it and landed on thin air and i was like....Oh, my god, this is the coolest thing ever, honestly, how did they have the time or imagination to put graphical details like that in? -
^ Really? here i thought that it was an NGC exclusive

There are some really special moments some of you guys have mentioned but nobody's mentioned the obvious ones: Chrono Trigger: [spoiler=]When you first travel back in time to 600AD and enter the world map and the "Yearning of the Wind" music plays...well, it's enough to bring a tear of joy to my eyes...and later on, when Crono scarifices himself to save his friends from Lavos, and is revived later or to help them defeat Lavos...and after the battle finishes he floats to the skies never to be seen again Metroid Prime [spoiler=]When you first put the game into your gamecube and the wonderfully animated menu and title screens come up, and the music plays, you know you have something special on your hands...later on, going into Phendrana Drifts for the first time and seeing the snowy world for all its splendour and glory is wonderful. Fighting Thardus (who i maintain is one of the best videogame bosses of all time) is another highpoint...hell the whole game is a high point if you ask me Final Fantasy 7 [spoiler=]Aeris dying, man, after going to the gold saucer, and getting a "date" with aeris and being around the cute and innocent lass that she is, its enough to break your heart...Sephiroth Destroying Nebelheim, your hometown and you swearing revenge...The Final boss...Sephiroth in three stages...Second stage it gets so hectic with your party trying to prevent him from using meteor...and the last stage, the greatest moment in videogame history, you press the single button that triggers your limit attack, and this one attack finished the already ravages Sephiroth off, and a huge cut scene ensues with the planets mako energy being restored...and the last frame...Aeris is underwater...and her eyes open. Resident Evil 4 [spoiler=]So many from this game that im not going to list them all... EDIT: Who can forget riding Epona for the first time in Ocarina of Time??

How in the world can you regret buying Prince of Persia and waverace, they were easily two of the best games released last gen. Waverace was by far the best Cube launch title. Games i regret getting were: Def Jam Vendetta!! (got rid of it the day i got it) Perhaps 007 nightfire and agent under fire, but they really did have their fun parts, but i did eventually get rid of them. Star wars rogue squadron 3: On foot missions bored and frustrated me to tears, but I suppose the flying missions were still hella fun.

Man, lots of memories from that old mag... How amazing was it when they showed you how to create classic Goldeneye and Perfect Dark maps on Timesplitters 2? Playing in the temple, facility and bunker levels again made my life complete...They (unfortunately) got overshadowed by the far inferior Cube magazine, The Editors in NGC were lovable dorks who genuinely loved the games, It was an integral part of owning a gamecube...

My thoughts on Metroid Prime 2...

I Agree with this guy. My god, the only person whose given a valid reason for disliking the game is Hero, the rest of you just don't like it because you're shit and unmotivated. The Metroid series is not for lazy gamers (except, perhaps for Prime 1, because that was amazing regardless of how good you were at it). Bottom line is, you get from it what you put into it, of course It wasn't going to be as utterly jaw dropping as 1, but then again I can only think of 2 or 3 other games in EXISTENCE that are. Retro had a smaller timescale to finish it in aswell, and yet it was filled with a killer story (which I suppose you miss if you don't scan everything) amazing enemies/bosses (anyone recall the butterfly boss? My jaw dropped when I first saw it). The finding of the keys was also fun! The amount of satisfaction you get when you discover their hiding places was amazing. Undoubtedly, the popular critique of this game is going to be that it is not innovative or groundbreaking enough in comparison with its predecessor. The question I pose is: why does it need to be? As a sequel, the purpose of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is to expand and improve on the things that the original title did well, and it accomplishes this in superb fashion. With a new storyline that was way more cinematic; a more atmospheric and immersive world; a load of new beams, visors and enemies; and a multiplayer mode to boot, it was a complete masterpiece that does not disappoint in the least...well, perhaps the changing between worlds got a little tiresome due to the load times...but who can forget the sense of awe when you first switched on the Echoes visor, or when you go into dark aether and are greeted by different enemies and a sinister, bordering on evil graphical style? It was fucking immense people, and I have yet to play another First person title that has captured me as much as the Prime series... So quit your bitching and realise that the only reason you like prime 2 less is because you have been told it's not as good by the press, and because there's less hype surrounding it, so all you haters can clam up and grow a pair. Agon Wastes...Sanctuary Fortress, the locales were so damn memorable, and you can only call the boss design lazy if you've only completed about 20% of the game. Damnit, you people make me so angry, I might just hurt myself....When they strap me in the chair, let them know the murder was just. -
Ha, RE4 one of the best games ever....took me 13 hours first time, and Metroid Prime, THE best game ever, took me 10 hours...guess im just good at adventure games...

To the above post...hmm, i suppose you don't make a point of buying only 8.5 rated games and above right? AAnyway, the games I will be getting are: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Red Steel (Maybe) Rayman Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz Metal Slug Anthology (YESS!! 1. Chrono Trigger - Undoubtedly the greatest piece of human art ever produced, absolutely perfect music to rival bach , an amazing, infinitely engaging story and amazing unique gameplay this is the game that difined the modern RPG, not Final Fantasy 7 as many think. I pity the fool who has'nt played Chrono Trigger. 2. Metroid Prime 2 - In my opinion, far superior to the first, same amazingly deep gameplay, yet the artwork and locations were so much more atmospheric and the music much more fitting. 3. Resident Evil 4 - The reason the cube's lifetime will forever be remembered by me as the good old, incredibly disturbing days. 4. Golden Sun: The Lost Age - I don't think there has been a single game i can remember that has angered me this much, not even games such as Contra and Ikaruge. Frustratingly difficult, yet amazingly rewarding, with tasks so ridiculously obscure, yet essential to the progression that i would'nt be surprised if 90% of the people who bought it did'nt complete it. Amazing. 5. Pokemon Red - This game turned me into a hermit. To the average eye, a benign game, for children even, but for anyone who plugs it into their gameboy , a manbeast of a game that refuses to let go. My mother cried when she first realised she'd lost me forever to Pikachu and co.
