  1. The game seems to be a reskinned, HD version of TP and SS. I'm getting a little bored of that engine to be honest, especially having played Wind Waker HD which was so much more fluid.
  2. Oh yeah, an even better indicator of the modernisation, the lasers and futuristic arrows in Zelda U's trailer! Add that to the recent list then.
  3. Transformation masks and looping time mechanics have nothing to do with each other and are included in separate games. The futurisation of Zelda games is a general theme that has been included in three of the last four games. I didn't think my point was that controversial or open to interpretation. Trains, robots, flying mechanical beetles and spinner devices all suggest that the series is moving towards more advanced technology, regardless of one retro-inspired game bucking the trend.
  4. If the game were €10 Wii would still be complaining that it's to expensive for his tight purse
  5. Any guesses as to which online retailer could ship first? Amazon or shopTo? It's not for balance though is it. The vast majority of reviews have given it an 8, that's why its metacritic is about there. You posting one of the only two 6/10's isn't for balance, it's a desperate attempt to slate the game.
  6. Still desperately trying to convince people I'm on your ignore list eh  you've made it clear many times I'm not. Oh and by the way the Trinity of Union makes even less sense than the other way around. If something's funny I'll laugh, not sure what your flimsy post was. My point was pretty clear, I suggested a raft would be a nice homage to old school Zelda but that these days the series has been modernised with things like robots, trains, giant metallic spinners, mechanical flying beetles etc and that a raft might be a little too low tech for the devs.
  7. Eh? You'd give @Wii a run for his money in half-arsed, paper thin posts that completely miss the point.
  8. Well done, you found the one review with the lowest score, whilst simultaneously ignoring places like IGN, Gamespot, Gametrailers, Polygon, EGM that all gave it 8 or more. (also you should read up on the definition of the word trinity, then you might see that "union of trinity" doesn't make much sense). edit, sorry, you found the worst review apart from this little insightful gem:
  9. Link using a raft to get across water would be an awesome throwback to the NES Zeldas. Probably too low tech though, it's all about robots, trains and time shift crystals now, for some reason.
  10. Thanks, do they have a habit of delivering early? Unlikely I guess but it'd be great to get this a few days early
  11. As someone who always orders games from Amazon, where's the best place to pre-order with a decent possibility they'll send it early, say 2-3 days early. ShopTo?
  12. The dungeons in Twilight Princess were excellent to be fair and probably the series' best. Conversely the ones in Skyward Sword were very very forgettable. The Sand Ship should have been amazing, instead it was a soul-less bore. Ancient Cistern the only good one, the others I can barely remember. Each 3D Zelda seems to have one aspect that's excellent. Hopefully Zelda U will take what works best from each.
  13. The packaging is really nice and makes them very desirable. I'd love to follow suit @Hero\-of\-Time and get two of each but with so many Smash ones on the way I just can't afford it. I'll prob just buy one of each and the occasional extra one to open. Can't wait for Toon Link, Mega Man and Duck Hunt Duo especially Got Peach delivered today
  14. I'm not gonna bother ranking the games as they're all special for one reason or another, but Wind Waker and Adventure of Link are two my favourite games. The former of all time. It will never happen of course but the thought of DLC for Zelda II with whole new areas to explore and dungeons to conquer fills me with joy.
  15. Triple Deluxe is the only Kirby game I've played but I agree it was fantastic.
  16. Thank you! Been trying to find one for ages
  17. I'm just glad the magic metre seems to be back. About time!
  18. What old favourites do you mean we're leaving behind? I don't understand how people are calling this a potential best Zelda ever. All we know is the world is huge, that's no indicator of quality whatsoever, only scope.
  19. Completely agree with this. The gameplay they showed reminds me of a cross between the lifeless world of Twilight Princess and the even more soul-less one of Skyward Sword. Very early footage obviously but I haven't seen anything that's made me convinced it will be a return to form like Wind Waker/OOT/MM. "Massive open world where you can travel anywhere" would be way down my list of priorities for a console Zelda game.
  20. The ultimate irony that @Wii is talking about differing opinions given that to him Nintendo should be catering their entire business strategy to his wishes and his alone. "I didn't ask for it, why are they making it" springs to mind.
  21. Yeah reading the above posts and thinking about it some more I guess it does make sense. Still think maybe a little bit more time on sale might have been good, they've only been out a week!
  22. Yes I heard the regular ending is very anticlimactic, shame. Glad to hear the DLC addresses this though, I'll probably pick it up after I finish the main game.
  23. It's a prototype map, a fact that was obvious within 2 seconds of looking at the UI. Stop reading so much into everything.
