  1. The other difference is I don't go in all guns blazing on the other consoles board telling those posters who joke about the Wii U that they're like "retarded school children" and that "there's no fucking need to bring up the Wii U" on a PS4 thread. As for Wind Waker...
  2. I mistakenly quoted Wii, and then edited the post when I realised my error. And I'm not derailing threads, this is a general, open thread that's had a thousand points of discussion. When the subject of console variety comes up, mention of the competition isn't exactly a stretch.
  3. Strange blue folds on the cockpit view is the last thing the devs needs to look at. What's changed between the risky but imaginative and loads of fun Assault that went in a totally new direction and Starfox Zero that looks like a safe, unimaginative rehash of a 15 year old game filled with the same dialogue, locations, HUD, victory music (ok that can stay) and most likely, storyline?
  4. Had I been bashing the Wii U in the Other Consoles side of the board I doubt Flink would be telling anyone to ignore me. People just need to relax a little bit, I don't understand why there's this over-sensitivity about tame PS4 abuse, on a Nintendo board, where the main Wii U thread has nothing but Nintendo abuse.
  5. You focused on sports games to make a point, I focused on colour to make a point. I do completely agree there's a serious lack of sports titles on Wii U though. Though there are genres on Wii U that are lacking elsewhere.
  6. Skylanders Superchargers / Assassin's Creed 8: Unity. The former looks pretty stunning tbf
  7. How am I derailing this thread? Someone said the Wii U lacks variety, I responded to that post. They're both fairly general threads anyway.
  8. Err, relax? My point about the PS4 was in relation to the Wii U. Next to the PS4 line up, the Wii U has plenty of variety. It just winds me up how often people say the Wii U has the same kind of games, it just isn't true.
  9. 2D platformer, 3D platformer, survival horror, Lego adventure, real time strategy, superhero action, Zelda adventure, kart racer, hack and slash, mini maze puzzler, retro challenge collection, team based multiplayer shooter, openworld RPG, arcade space shooter, level creator, sports, third person shooter, beat-em-up/brawler, JRPG, party game, arcade minigame collection, puzzle platformer...? How much variety do you want? A lack of variety hasn't exactly hindered PS4 or Xbox One in terms of sales.
  10. I bring up the lack of variety thing when someone mentions the lack of variety on the Wii U. Just as I did in this instance, and all others.
  11. At least it has a nice art style. It looks stylised and gorgeous. Star Fox Zero looks like they put it together in a few months, with a barebones N64 art style.
  12. So it's ok when people say the Wii U lacks variety and only has the same games but not when I say the same about the PS4. And this is on a (supposed) Nintendo message board. Gotcha. I posted the first graphic to inject some much needed positivity in this thread, but as usual, no Wii U praise is allowed in here. Regardless, don't be so surprised when your ludicrous point about samey Nintendo games gets challenged. That PS4 line up of their most popular games destroys that argument.
  13. You're right, needs more of that PS4 variety...
  14. The Skylanders ones seem really cheap, they actually just look like toys, whereas the amiibos look like figurines. The cards look really great too. The Animal Crossing ones look fantastic quality!
  15. http://www.nintendo-insider.com/2015/06/22/yoshis-woolly-world-review/ http://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/wiiu/yoshis_woolly_world
  16. I wasn't counting the handful of Sony first party games, just the AAA games in general. Also, not specifically FPS's, just shooters in general. They do to me, but you're probably right. Sad really imo. You mean like NintendoLand, Pikmin 3, Zombie U, Lego City, Sonic, NES Remix, Wonderful 101, Wind Waker HD, Mario Kart 8? That kind of first 18 months? People adored Donkey Kong and 3D World. Anyway going round in circles. The comment that the Wii U only has platformers is as silly as the comment that the other two only have shooters. I wouldn't be complaining at all. It's what modern gaming is all about and that's why it's so prevalent in AAAs.
  17. Anyone can decide to go for terrible visuals in a game. That doesn't make it right. The graphics are seriously poor, come on surely you can admit that.
  18. If people are going to say the Wii U only has platformers, I don't see the problem with saying other consoles only have shooters.
  19. Other consoles release nothing but shooters, Nintendo consoles release nothing but platformers.
  20. No thanks, they're pretty fugly and poor quality looking
  21. Amiibo must DIE!!! DIE I tell you. Seriously, they're harmless. The most basic of content that no one really cares about locked behind a cool little figurine. A figurine that is let's not forget, the main reason people spend the £10. I can't wait to have a little Duck Hunt dog and bird on my desk at work.
  22. Yep. There's a reason places like IGN often endearingly refer to Nintendo as the crazy toy maker, they like to innovate and give us new things. We also don't need a third identical console to the other two, though I suppose it would help with third parties.
  23. Damn that Seggiebii and his love for amoeba and Pukemon!
  24. I'll never understand how people who don't buy amiibo are so wound up by them. Nice little figurines that unlock the most minor of features in-game. I know it's the usual hysterical bashing of anything Nintendo do but seriously, they're really not that big of a deal. They are however massively popular and any extra source of £££ Nintendo can get at the moment is a good thing. I'd love to see a dedicated Skylanders-like amiibo game on Wii U. Something like Smash but as a platformer maybe.
