  1. If you liked the 8-bit Mega Man, Zelda II, Duck Tales, Castlevania, Super Mario Bros 3 type games you'll love this. It's easily one of my favourite games of recent years. Top notch gameplay, beautiful visuals, amazing sound, great humour, basically the complete package.
  2. Who's the lucky guy/girl reviewing this for N-Europe?
  3. I'll be getting this digitally, as I think it's the ideal game to always have access to when you're out and about. I can see it selling surprisingly well actually.
  4. Wonder if the day 1 patch will be up a day early....
  5. I'm keen but to be honest with Zelda, Fast RMX, Shovel Knight and SnipperClips on day 1 I'm ok with all that. I suspect the price of this will plummet pretty quickly
  6. The original game is being re-titled as Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope, then you've got the two additional campaigns Plague of Shadows, and Specter of Torment, and a fourth is being developed at the moment. All of the above will be purchasable individually, or you can buy Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, which is a collection of all of the campaigns.
  7. Maybe they think the target market for 1, 2 Switch would prefer it to be marketed like that, rather than going all in on the gaming console hybrid angle.
  8. Please, please, please let it be coming to Switch. Such a brilliant game. Fingers crossed...
  9. Pro controller has a 40+ hour battery life. Dualshock 4 has an 8 hour battery life, if you're lucky. Add in NFC, HD Rumble, gyro on top of the massive battery life and I think it's worth the 10 quid extra (or whatever it is) On a separate note... [TWEET]835451038517903361[/TWEET] From sleep mode to gameplay in less than 10 seconds.
  10. My (already considerable) hype has just multiplied by 10 listening to Gamexplain's half hour discussion with the editor of Nintendo Force. I'd recommend people give it a watch/listen, there's no real spoilers tbh
  11. Just a shield I think. Didn't really consider it a spoiler tbh?
  12. My problem with Skyward Sword is that it was yet another example of recent Zelda games completely ditching their core mechanic of overworld exploration. Think about it... Phantom Hourglass: a big sea with islands dotted and loading screens between them. Nothing seamless. Spirit Tracks: Same thing, a disconnected land separated by on rails train tracks. Skyward Sword: Disconnected overworld. The sky may as well have been a level select. A Link Between Worlds: Lorule was new enough but still, the whole game, excellent though it was, used a rehashed world from ALTTP. See what I mean? We haven't had a proper, brand new, seamless overworld to explore since, what, Twilight Princess? That's what's so exciting about BOTW.
  13. It's a good thing EDGE gave this game a 10, and with Horizon and Nioh getting 9s it's a pretty great month for games!
  14. Personally I'm not too fussed about no VC at launch. I'd rather play brand new games like Zelda, Bomberman, Fast RMX, Specter of Torment and Snipperclips at launch than games I've played a dozen times before. I'm sure it would have been easy to get a VC up and running at launch but the delay seems to suggest they're overhauling it in some way, which can only be a good thing.
  15. This one gif is cooler than anything in Skyward Sword
