  1. https://mynintendonews.com/2017/03/06/nintendo-cut-some-touchscreen-features-from-breath-of-the-wild/ Have to say I quite like just looking at one screen again.
  2. Yeah that's fair enough but I have set it up as tap once for screenshots and the notification sound still takes a good 5 seconds. It's very confusing, it also doesn't let you take captures in quick bursts. You have to wait for the former to finish processing.
  3. The Pro controller is easily the most comfortable I've ever used, and 40 hours of battery is just insane, haven't charged it once yet. It's great. I'm never quite sure when my PS4 actually takes the screenshot, whether it's when I press the capture button or the 5+ seconds it takes to sound a notification. That said, they need to update the Switch to make screen caps png or at least 900p/1080p.
  4. Given how well made the Switch itself is, the dock is terrible by comparison. I cringe every time I take the thing in or out.
  5. The forecast bit of the HUD would be useful if you've a big climb ahead, if you see rain on the way just leave the climb till later. I can't quite believe how many korok seed puzzles there in total, cause I've found about 9 in ten hours. Hoping the puzzles get a bit tougher later in the game.
  6. Yeah, I'd hate to rush visiting the whole map, no need really. Just spent a few hours playing. I finally moved on to the region east of the Plateau, and that's probably where I truly fell in love with this game. The Plateau was great but I'd basically seen most of it from E3 gameplay demos, Treehouse streams etc, whereas this place was totally brand new. Oh and it's twice the size!
  7. Rather than hunt down every tower early and fill the map out in one go I think I'm going to really take my time with each region and explore it fully before moving on to the next tower. I've spent 6+ hours in the Plateau and still don't feel like I know my way around that well!
  8. Wow, that's quite a U turn from your thoughts earlier!
  9. The Zelda formula was in desperate need of a reboot, and this is it. They were purposefully not trying to copy OOT/TP/SS and the game is all the better for it. They're obviously great games but a fresh perspective was needed IMO. Personally I love the breakable weapons, I love how it forces you to strategise. Also, I love how the towers only paint a map for you, they don't fill it with dozens of icons like other openworld games. It's up to the player to explore, and I love that. My only criticisms are the framerate in tv mode (such a shame) and the controls/inventory management is a bit annoying.
  10. Well, over a long period of time is fine but I'm just pleased they don't respawn when you turn a corner or rest overnight
  11. So is this thread full spoilers now? Would have rather they weren't split up but oh well.
  12. I'm surprised things don't respawn like you would expect, especially some things like peppers for instance. Maybe they do over a long time. For some reason I expected enemy encampments to respawn but I'm very glad they don't. Makes it a bit less video gamey.
  13. I'm absolutely loving this game. Put about 5 hours into it, just exploring the Plateau. About to do my final Shrine. The level design in this area is fantastic, how it guides you and teaches you throughout. Wonderful stuff so far.
  14. Nope. Read through this thread and you'll see glowing reviews, and a few nitpicks. Sure there are issues (as with any console launch) but the majority seem to love it.
  15. It's weird because I'm sure Jose at IGN mentioned checking his playtime at 70 hours or so, and from videos clicking on your profile on the Switch main menu seems to give stats per game, but I can't confirm that.
  16. So does this have somewhere that counts how long you've spent in a game? I noticed something similar on your profile page? Has anyone tried the parental controls app? Finally opening my Switch tonight...
  17. It's funny, none of the reviews mention a barren overworld. All they talk about are secrets around every corner and how much fun it is to explore. Either way, is a wilderness really supposed to be full of stuff every few dozen steps? If things were in plain sight it would be like a Ubisoft game with checkboxes covering the map.
  18. Nintendo adding new friending methods for the Switch, post launch
  19. Personally I'd rather keep all Zelda chat in one thread, less confusing, but whatever the majority want. How would people know when to venture into a spoiler thread? If I want to talk about something 5 hours in, but someone else has posted about something 30 hours in. So yeah I'd just suggest this thread with spoiler tags giving vague hints on the kind of spoiler.
  20. I thought you could swap X and B? Full control would be nice though. And yeah Gamexplain hated the inventory navigation. Gets worse as you progress apparently.
  21. Yeah, seems fine. Given they let you change usernames could this be why you can't add people that way, as it confuses things? Maybe that's the reason Sony don't want you changing your PSN name.
  22. Gamexplain are probably the most negative about it. They had issues with the main story (not much of it), "uneven voice acting", and the inventory screen being a real pain to navigate, though loved the rest of it.
  23. I'd love them to release a brand new Zelda adventure in that 8 bit style. Doesn't need to be long, a couple of hours to complete, maybe eShop only. Would be gloriously nostalgic and fresh at the same time.
