  1. In the News section r-e says the Sony conference is may 8, 10.00/11.00 but shouldn't it be may 9 0.00/1.00?
  2. Probably later, but i'll go for october 6th ....
  3. It is small, but not smaller than the gamecube-controller, so i dont think the size will be a problem. It is designed to be used like the old NES-controller too. My concern is that it is very difficult to steer a car by tilting a joypad. I have had a Microsoft Sidewinder Pro joypad with some kind of tilt-sensibillity in it, but it was almost impossible to steer anything precise with it or hold it still when you wanted to drive straight.
  4. Some comments from gamespot.com Game-industry analysts were swift with their responses. "Looks like a good solid name for Nintendo," said an optimistic Michael Gartenberg, vice president and research director of Jupiter Research. "The key is making sure they follow up with a strong launch campaign to evangelize the new brand and help drive the message forward." Michael Goodman, senior analyst of media and entertainment strategies at The Yankee Group, believes the name change is a mistake. "I thought Revolution had much more meaning," he told GameSpot. "It was an apt description for the console. It was a revolutionary design ... the controller is pretty revolutionary. Wii just doesn’t do it for me. How do we even pronounce this? WEEE? I'm not sure this is technically a word. What is a WEE, W-I-I? You're building everything from scratch in terms of awareness and in terms of building a brand. Verses Xbox 360--you're taking the core Xbox brand and leveraging it to a new product. With PlayStation 3, it still has all those great attributes of the PlayStation." Wedbush Morgan Securities' Michael Pachter was more mixed in his assessment. "My initial reaction, of course, is that the name is dumb," he bluntly stated. "However, upon reflection, I thought that the name Game Boy was dumb, REALLY thought that the name Xbox was dumb, and can't even recall my reaction to PlayStation. Let's face it, devices with cool names like Dreamcast and Gizmondo fail, and the lame names seem to do well." Colin Sebastian, Lazard Capital Markets' senior research analyst for Internet and interactive entertainment, displayed Vulcan-like logic responding to the Wii revelation. "The success of the console will have much more to do with the quality of the games and the gameplay," he said. "Nintendo probably believes they've found a name that can stick with consumers. Revolution was catchy, but given similarities with the Xbox 360 name, perhaps Nintendo felt they had to make a change."
  5. Even on the danish boards the first thing people mentioned was what it could in english. But i think its a ok name. Sounds stupid, but looks good.
  6. planetgamecube.com has a good guees what the gesture-system could be: Mike S says: The fact that "gesture system" is quoted out to me implies that in addition to the gyro technology, the controller's drivers are pre-written with some sort of system to recognize gestures (perhaps drawing letters in the air to make them appear on screen for a simple example). Could this be one of Nintendo's "secret" Revolution features?
  7. Have you read Matt's blog? He commented the story in the article "Why So Blue?" http://blogs.ign.com/Matt-IGN/2006/03/29/7864/ As you see there is a big image of a blue Revolution. Isn't it a strange title? I know it is an expression but still ... Then i read that the preview-page of the upcomming EDGE displayed a big BLUE "5". And Nintendo have talked alot about the blue ocean. Could "blue" be a part of the final name? Anyways. I dont see any reason to use to much time thinking of what these specs can deliver. I would rather wait and see!
  8. BicTac is probaply telling is something important. With a few adjusments in the letters it could be "rendered in camera 3d per graphics". But that dosn't make any sense? "eredrend ni ramoec d3 rep phasicrp"
  9. Some has suggested the final secret has something to do with the graphics or the way they are displayed. That would explain why they haven't showed any screenshots ... What do you think of that? Any news of what Sony are up to? You mentioned some good and bad news ...
  10. Have you heard the final name? ... is it good/bad?
  11. It could be this statement that confused some: Furthermore, in regards to launch schedule, Iwata told the Taipei Times that he doesn't "think it's necessary to do the simultaneous worldwide launch [with Revolution] simply because others are doing this." His statement comes in response to both Sony and Microsoft who attempted - or in Sony's case, will be attempting - a simultaneous global launch with their respective next-generation consoles. From http://www.revolutionreport.com
  12. He never claimed to be a big industri insider. He visit developers and has some contacts, thats all!
  13. Have you seen this clip? http://www.gamespot.com/pages/video_player/popup.php?sid=6146505&pid=930752 The two lower buttons has been changed to X and Y and there is a strange mark to the left of them. I cant see what it is in the low-res movie. Take a look!! You can almost feel it ...
  14. According to http://nintendo-revolution.blogspot.com/ the download service will include Hudson retro-games too. Hopefully other developers will join.
  15. OK OK!! Does GO mean 8 in any language? So it seems like GO is a very good name for the japanese market. But how about everyone else? I dont think they will use different name for the other regions.
  16. Actually it would be the fifth GameBoy. Gameboy Gameboy Color Gameboy Advance Gameboy Advance SP But if its a real name, its probably for the Revolution.
  17. Yeah, its a pretty good name for an online system. But they would probably use the same name and logo as the DS wifi.
  18. It looks real to me! It looks really good, but the name is poor. It is very international though GO could have something to do with it being semi-portable ...
  19. They also stated that PS3 games will be region-free. As some suggested, i think this means that they wont launch worldwide, but its possible for everyone to import the games. Did they say anything about launch?
  20. Second place in the race isn't the same as second choice. I think there is a lot of people who only buys one console. But the Revolution could be first choice for many people.
  21. Come on ... BicTac gives us a lot of good stuff. He dosn't claim to be prophet og anything, but just some good info. For you and the [very] few others who don't belive him this was just a proof from him. He said two months ago, that they are working on Battalian Wars for Revolution and now it's official. His post two months ago: http://www.revo-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?p=83513#post83513 There is really no reason to disguss his reliability and definitly not bash him like that! A lot of us really appreciate his info. : peace: I don't mind you comment on everything, but you tend to sound a little arrogant. Or is it just me?
  22. I have read that you won't be able to use the old gc-controller to play rev-games. I'm probably not the only who has read that ...?
  23. I don't read this as the Revolution's graphics will be as good as Xbox360'. Just that i dosn't really matter, when you have the controller.
  24. Well that's a relief, didn't see any point in that. Carefull you're becomming overconfident
  25. Nintendo has talked a lot of attracting new gamers, so i'm affraid it would a game targeted to those non-gamers.
