Fastest backtrack in political history? I know of many who voted leave due to the NHS angle.
-
Who wants to move to Scotland? They seem to be on the ball. Should have held off a day to be paid. I'd be like £900 richer :p
-
I'm actually concerned there may be riots tomorrow

Saw an amusing thing where the people with the pencil conspiracy ideas are mostly the ones who are voting to give the government full control over the country.
-
From what we've heard they were supportive internally. Just because they didn't publically denounce everything as evil doesn't mean they weren't supporting, especially considering the stuff coming up. It was only when it came to light what the nature of her moonlighting was that they had to dismiss her because that sort of work is strongly against Nintendo's policies.
-
To be fair, they didn't do nothing. They supported that employee
-
Hindsight is 20/20 and they learned from that?

It's why I took a live Octopus to use its ink rather than pen or pencil.
-
Conspiracy theories have already cropped up. People thinking that pencil votes will be rubbed out and turned to remain from leave, people saying police stopping them from loaning pens out and some people (granted it's Nick Griffin) saying that postal votes for Leave have been tampered with.
-
So because they don't have many at the top means they aren't progressive? Treehouse is filled with female staff and are typically the ones used to promote games. Nintendo seldom put out a game where you don't play as a female. They've had female protagonists since the 80s. Just because they don't have a high ranking employee who is female doesn't mean they're being slow. It's illogical to just assume that there was intent or malice here when there clearly wasn't any.
-
But it's Nintendo. Nintendo has never had a serious problem with women, and they've been pushing equality and everything for decades. Is it not more logical, based on facts etc. to give them the benefit of the doubt for two things which aren't as closely connected as the removed images imply rather than just assume the worst case scenario? The fact that humans constantly jump to the absolute worst assumption is part of what is wrong with society and you can see that with things globally i.e. Trump, Brexit etc. I have absolutely zero doubt that this has anything to do with her. We can't just suddenly assume all references to five males in gaming and any -gate suffix is pertaining to her at all.
-
They're really not closely related though. There is no doubt in my mind that this has nothing to do with that. The images were taken out of context. You can do that with anything to get any reaction and tie in with anything. That's how important context is to things. That's why people need to actually look at context of things before reacting. While what happened to her sucks, this has nothing to do with her. Fun guys = a joke on Fungi, and a joke that has frequently been used in the Mario series regarding Toad Five = There's five of them -gate = a suffix that is used whenever there's a scandal This has nothing to do with her or what happened to her, and it's ridiculous to assume otherwise.

An entire mini-game between them...
-
Those two scenes aren't together in the game. Granted, spliced they look dodgy, but there is no implication at all. Seriously. The -gate suffix has nothing to do with Gamergate. It has been used jokingly for scandals globally for decades since Watergate. I can understand why she may have made the connection if seeing the two images just like that but that's not the context in the game. You do know that the Rapp firing had nothing to do with Gamergate right? It was her moonlighting vocation that resulted in it. So every time there are five guys in a group, if anyone mentions it they're referencing the situation? The link is tenuous at best.

:p Neither option is perfect. There are elements of the EU which suck, there are elements that don't. I firmly believe that united we stand, divided we fall. Many people are just misinformed. For example, a significant portion of the population don't realise that we do actually vote for our MEPs, yet so many are "angry" that the EU exists with people nobody voted for to unilaterally make decisions. Unfortunately these misconceptions spread. I fear that if we leave, a lot of people may have remorse because it's not going to be what they think. There are reasons to leave, valid ones, but many people aren't voting due to valid reasons. Hell, when one of the leads of the Leave campaign makes a statement that "people are fed up with experts from acronyms telling people what to do" when trying to plead his case, you know something is up

And done, all mini-games and all Great game. Consider me a Kirby convert
-
So you're saying we should move to Scotland, that way we win either way? :p
-
Looks Blast Balls!?
-
Vote for me. If you were running I'd vote for you. :P
-
Yeah. I only expect Parliament to go "against" the referendum if it's like 50.1-53% in favour of leave, because that's way too close for it to be acceptable. If it's bordering on 50/50 leave/stay then they can't in good conscience leave.
-
It's pure numbers. Referendums are just opinion polls, so having it done based on constituency doesn't really fit. Parliament is not required to act on them, either. If it's really close (as in like 51% for leave), then I imagine Parliament would use its power to say "No, it's too close, we're staying in".
