Well the thing is that the Virtual Console releases all require some level of recoding and testing, which can get costly so they do need to recoup the costs. It isn't what some people think where they just upload the game and be done with it, they try and get it as close to the original performance as possible. However, they need to be a bit more flexible. Games like Pinball, Baseball etc. aren't worth that high cost, but then if they were flexible, you'd have people asking why Mario is higher than Baseball seeing as they're both "old" games. Iwata is right, though. Smartphones and Steam Sales have really devalued games. It's ridiculous. When I revealed Pokémon Art Academy, people were saying "This should be free". I mean what the hell?

Yay. Arrogant Sony is back ^_^ -
Ok. Does that mean you'll stop shitting up Wii U threads now, then? ============ The thing is, the Wii U's failure is indicative of something very wrong in the industry. It is collapsing. People say "Look at the PS4. It has sold 10 million in 9 months". Well yes, that's great, even though the Wii did 13.6million in the same period of its life. However, the PS4 and Xbox One sales were ridiculously frontloaded and look at the NPDs. Last month, the first July of the life of two of the consoles (estimated): PS4 ~ 187k XB1 ~ 131k 3DS ~ 108k Wii U ~ 80.5k 360 ~ 54k PS3 ~ 32.5k PSV ~ 16k Wii ~ 14k Compare to the July the Xbox 360 was new DS = 377,000 PS2 = 241,000 360 = 206,000 GBA = 163,000 PSP = 161,000 GCN = 44,000 Xbox = 12,000 And the July the Wii & PS3was new WII - 425k NDS - 405k PS2 - 222k PSP - 214k 360 - 170k PS3 - 159k GBA - 87k There is a clear contracting in the industry. The PS4 is doing relatively well, the Xbox One is pushing it, and the Wii U isn't doing well, but things aren't good at all. July 2007 had the PS3 at 159k and everyone was saying it was a flop, and that was after the price cut, yet the PS4 is doing just a tiny bit better, and is being applauded for selling amazingly. I'm not saying that this is the reason for the Wii U's failure as Nintendo made oh so many mistakes. They needed to pander to the "ZOMG MORE SPECS" that some of the audience and, unfortunately, western developers care so much about. As such, developers struggled to port their engines properly, and so people didn't bother buying their late and/or dodgy ports. They also needed to actually market the bloody thing and make it clear it wasn't a new peripheral for the Wii. Nintendo are doing what they do best, though. They are creating software and hardware in a symbiosis style, and it really shows when you look at their output. Yes, the GamePad was a miscalculation, but if they had gone the same route as the others and we had a third x86 console, I am willing to bet that the industry would contract more and Nintendo's console would do worse. There are dark times ahead for the industry.

Pic of the day. "No, I'll just beat you within an inch of your life!" Demon Lord Ghirahim makes an appearance in Smash Bros!! He's an Assist Trophy, so he could conceivably back up Link, too.

Pic of the day. The treasure chests that appear in Smash Run are very important. Not only do they give you stat boosts, but they also give you custom parts (the bag on the right) and Smash Run powers (the bag on the left). You should pick these up and use them in the next battle!! …However, watch out for Mimicuties disguised as treasure chests. Run away! RUN AWAY!!

If I hadn't have caught Scribblenauts Unlimited in the brief time they mistakenly added it just after the delay, I'd have been so pissed.

-
Hahahaha no :p It's way too soon. They never show spin-offs a year before their release
-
Yes, they supported it, but the question is the quality in which they supported it.
-
Only way we'll get third parties on Nintendo platforms, even if they copy the exact architectures of the other consoles, is if Nintendo throws money at them.
-
Thing with Youkai Watch, that may hamper it in the west, is that it really is aimed at kids. It doesn't have the broad appeal Pokémon does. So it may not be close to the powerhouse Pokémon is. Plus, the anime is so unbelievably Japanese. It'll be a tricky proposition, that's for sure.

Considering the userbase, Zombi U has done rather well from what I've heard. Obviously it didn't sell amazingly, but it was more likely that Ubisoft's expectations were too high.
-
Perhaps, but third parties didn't even try, expected things to sell, and then bitched that the Wii U wasn't the console for them when they didn't. There were a number of late ports we got that were then complained about, sales wise. Specifically Mass Effect 3 (at the same time as Trilogy on the other formats) and Need for Speed. They were good ports, but they were both very late and not advertised. Of course they weren't going to sell. Then you have things like Splinter Cell and Sniper Elite with massive features cut out. Then you have all the games like Need for Speed, Mass Effect, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed etc. with had zero support afterward. And they all had zero promotion. Yes, third parties put out games, no they likely wouldn't have outsold Nintendo's own titles, but they can't blame this solely on the userbase being there. If you punch a dog, of course it's going to bite you.
-
Based on the 3DS image, they look identical to the source material, though.
-
Yeah, then I had a hands on with other platforms There was some serious motion blur that gave me headaches in the Wii U one. Even then, AC4 never got DLC here. Games like Splinter Cell had features cut. They didn't put their all in, and consumers knew this.
-
Well I'd have said parity if their ports weren't subpar, but yeah they did at least release them.
-
Well it's not like he pulled them out of nowhere, these are actual costumes Samus has worn in Metroid games...
-
To be fair, with AC3 and AC4, they half arsed it. The quality of the ports were subpar (even worse than 360 and PS3 when the Wii U CAN do better) and they even insulted Wii U owners further by not bothering to provide the DLC to them. I can't help but see the third parties with "mature" titles on Wii U being a self-fulfilling prophecy
