  1. Yeah, but there were new game announcements in the Direct and between the Direct and the Digital Event. That's the thing I'm getting at. I'm also not saying the Digital Event would suddenly be "oh my god, best ever", I'm saying it would have been a far more solid showing. The Smash DLC is one thing in the list and you focus on that and act like that was the focal point of my post. You're twisting my words.
  2. Yep, and there's a search function. You can also filter by favourite creators.
  3. But the games shown off that people are complaining about still look like top quality games, and play well based on first impressions coming in
  4. To combine all the announcements they made in the last two weeks and say that if they hadn't been stupid and separated them, that things would be better? Yeah, classic.
  5. Thinking about it, let's assume that they didn't have the Direct two weeks ago and they left the Smash stuff and Earthbound for this. That'd have made the Digital Event have: Starfox Super Mario Maker Mario Tennis Zelda: TriForce Heroes Hyrule Warriors Legend Dr. Mario Miracle Cure Available after the event Chibi Robo: Zip Lash Yoshi's Woolly World Xenoblade Chronicles X Fire Emblem Fates SMTxFE Smash DLC - Ryu, Roy & Lucas Available after the event Earthbound Beginnings Available after the event Metroid Prime: Federation Force Metroid Prime: Blast Ball Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer Animal Crossing amiibo Festival Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water Art Academy Atelier/Home Studio Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon Yo-Kai Watch Bravely Second Little Battlers Experience Mario & Sonic at the Rio Olympic Games Devil's Third Sonic Boom Project Treasure Skylanders amiibo stuff Indie Sizzle Reel Maybe Monster Hunter X & Monster Hunter Village + Dragon Quest 8 (though these are Japan only for now) This would have been a seriously solid, albeit not megaton dropping performance and there would not have been complaints. Nintendo messed up by having the Direct two weeks ago. It's not that Nintendo lacks content, it's just they spaced this stuff out too much over the past few weeks and that worked to their detriment. There Nintendo, I fixed your marketing for you. If you have a time machine, go fix it. If not, BLOODY LEARN FOR NEXT YEAR. Don't do a Direct within a bloody month of E3
  6. Let's not pretend that E3 is the only time for Nintendo game announcements. There's still stuff to come. One game in particular that I know outright is coming, and is wanted by many here. I was actually surprised it wasn't shown.
  7. Strange thing is that Platinum is the one dealing with story, art direction, graphics etc. while Nintendo are doing all the mechanics
  8. Yes I do. Then there was a schedule conflict and then we had a random Direct with game reveals two weeks before E3. There has to be a reason why they did that and I am trying to find it. It's as simple as that.
  9. Nintendo just reconfirmed that you can turn the gyro off
  10. Totally agree. The Yoshi bit was excruciating.
  11. I'm postulating a theory based on the evidence. I'm not assigning blame. It's a fact that Nintendo had a random Direct which had reveals two weeks ago. It's a fact that Square Enix had a scheduling conflict with Nintendo. What I theorise is certainly within the realms of possibility. Try actually thinking about it rather than giving a quick knee-jerk reaction.
  12. I had a thought/have a theory. What if, the Square Enix conference had a factor in this. There was the scheduling conflict and Square Enix agreed to delay an hour but what if Nintendo had to cut their Digital Event down so that there was no further clash. As such, we ended up with the random Japanese Nintendo Direct on May 31st (seriously, that came out of nowhere) and its US equivalent on June 1st which contained many other titles including Chibi Robo and Bravely Second and caused them to shift the Earthbound and maybe Smash stuff to the Sunday rather than having it all in one. If Nintendo did have the last Direct's stuff and Earthbound/Smash in the Digital Event, then it would have been a solid showing. Not amazing, but definitely solid and would not have got this reaction.
  13. I was thinking the same. If they had the Direct contents from two weeks ago and kept the Smash stuff & Earthbound to today, then there would have been a lot less disappointment It was shown behind closed doors, not on the show floor.
  14. Starfox wasn't publically shown before today. Hyrule Warriors Legend is a new game as it is a game that was not on that console before. If we're just going to not count ports and remasters, then let's take a second look at Microsoft and Sony's conferences, shall we?
  15. Barely Excluding Skylanders, the Nintendo Digital Event contained: New announcements (counting Starfox & HWL): 7 Existing game details: 7 Pretty even split.
  16. Thank you. That's the thing with this conference. Titles look solid, there just weren't any massive reveals, which sucks really.
  17. Watch the Treehouse Live segment for it. It looks really fun.
  18. Reggie did imply games will be revealed at Treehouse Live. Let's hope for good stuff.
  19. Easy. They use blur to hide dodgy textures.
  20. I agree. I'm no saying Nintendo didn't mess this Digital Event up. All I'm saying is that there's a massive over-reaction going on.
  21. All those first party Sony titles... ...oh.
  22. To be fair, both Shenmue and Final Fantasy 7 are at least 2 years away, and Nintendo's stuff is all between now and next E3. I'm not defending this event. I'm just saying a lot of reactions are ridiculous.
  23. This is just one bad event when they have been knocking it out the park in Directs all year.
  24. You and me both. It looks nice. I think people were wanting realism forgetting that you're playing as a fox.
  25. Different art styles.
