Rumor Control - IGN's Nintendo Voice Chat

Who the freak is asking about Smash Bros 4?!?!! A third of the world doesn't have Brawl yet! -
i'll be a Remote user. Or perhaps a nunchuk. according to Miyamoto, you've got serious bragging rights if you place highly with the Wii Remote/*wat-o-Wheel, so when i'm overtaking you chumps, remember to show some respect.

I thought it was, but didn't want to look a fool!

the blue shell really needs to be rethought. Instead of actually helping those trailing, it help those nearing 1st place. Personally, i think the blue shell should strike all players above the user, solving the age old problem of having 1st place snatched unfairly.

i don't think they'd get away with sending games out this early. I'd imagine they're all packed and ready to be collected by your chosen courier on wednesday.

Edge is great for intelligent discussion on games, but reviews are on the whole a bit wonky. How can Edge justify giving Halo 3 10/10 when games like COD4 and Bioshock are better examples of the genre? Should Edge award these games 11/10? Now, if Edge have taken offence at Mario Karts party game roots, and lets be fair the game does sit rather comfortably in a party game racing sub-genre then they can't responsibly review the game- Mario Kart is the best mascot racer about but if Edge marks down titles for being in that genre, then they're missing the a well balanced review- to be impartial.

Mk does seem to have split the forums. Lets face it, MK has always been entertaining, even its worst iteration - DoubleDash - was still a good, entertaining game. MK does have its faults, and its clear that Nintendo have chosen not to remedy these - with the power of the Wii (and infact the GC), its inexcusable that Nintendo still don't invest in AI for the series (or developing proper online GPs), rubber banding should have been removed by the n64 era. However, MK Wii as some great online options, which makes up for the 1 player faults. Swings and roundabouts.

has it been established how many blocks Mario Kart will take. I've got less than 30 left....... Can't bring myself to empty the fridge..!

Don;t know if this has been mentioned yet, but Famitsu seem to have given Mario Krt Wii 37/40. At least a Wikipedia editor- thats anyone, guys - has posted so... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_kart_wii

OK, i'm expecting to use the PC for a little gaming, but also thinking of using it to make animation and video editing. So it'd be spec heavy. I've seen tiny PCs before but i literally can't think where i'd keep a desktop, our house is awkwardly designed,

Despite wanting an uber spanky desktop PC, due to space limitations, i'm going to struggle to fit one in. Currently, the missus' old laptop is sufficing, but with it being almost as old as the Turin Shaud, i think we'll be looking at a new laptop shortly anyway. Is it at all possible to build your own laptop? Or do you have any other sugestions? A desktop PC linked to a TV, Perhaps? I'm open to all suggestions to ensure computing in a small space.

George Harrison has taken those pie charts with him.

Ok, its a little over a week until Nintendo's Media Summit takes place, however just what is due to be shown. Compared to the last media summit, where (as I recall) Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros Brawl, Link Crossbow Training, Batallion Wars 2 and a handful of other games appeared in either video or playable forms. Fastforward to today and Nintendo has far less to offer - Mario Kart Wii and WiiFit (both out in mere days in Europe, slightly later for our overseas friends). While both are expected to do big business, especially in the casual crowd, this summit seems to have very little substance to it. So, despite The Reginator promising a big E3 blow out in July, could this summit have a secret or two?

RUMOUR: New NiGHTS & Skies of Arcadia at Sega Gamers Day 2008
david.dakota replied to Dante's topic in Nintendo Gaming
None of these fall into the 'casual market',so i'm expecting some more casual surprises - especialy since Mario and Sonic has done so well. -
what are the online options for Brawl? Can i play local 1, 2 and 3 players with the remaining players online 1 local:3 online, 2:2, 3:1?

Rumor Control - IGN's Nintendo Voice Chat
david.dakota replied to pedrocasilva's topic in Nintendo Gaming
There were a number of rumours that Nintendo were pitching Animal Crossing as its answer to PS Home. If Nintendo fail to capitalise on AC's popularity by establising it as a MMO game (and take the opportunity to push Pay to Play), then i'm loosing hope in Iwata. With all this casual shite (which I was originally very happy about by the way)... Nintendo needs to realise that GAMERS WANT TO PLAY -
I've preordered too, hey it is Mario kart. As has been pointed out, I think Nintendo are rushing this to fill in a Japanese gap (now they have WiiFit, and Smash, whats next...). The online options will make or break this game.

Rumor Control - IGN's Nintendo Voice Chat

While i'm looking forward to Mario Kart, and its a must buy for me, I'm expecting it to prove any better than Double Dash. A single player GP is rather poor, considering the SNES managed 2 player from Day One. Its seemingly like Nintendo have suddenly thought, "Oh, yeah, we can do Mario Kart". We shall see. -
I can agree that DLC is possibly not a feasible idea with Wii, with the lack of storage device, but a lack of online is appalingly short sighted. Both Wii and DS do have success with online games, I can't understand why Rock Band is any different.

Looks pretty darn fine. ***EDIT*** Actually, having looked round IGN, i'm thinking this is going to turn out amazing. I'm now well hyped for this.

Wii Freeloader Thread - FAQ & Info in First Post
david.dakota replied to DiemetriX's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Datel are under no obligation to do anything at all, and I wouldnt expect anything from them. It clearly states in the manuals they cannot guarentee it will work after future Firmware updates. Datel clearly knew this was the right time to cash in on the Brawl/Mario Kart/Wii Fit hype, and consumers were simply hoping for a little more time before any updates. This was inevitable. -

Everytime there's an update, we;re all going to be rather tentitive about installing it! Look well if one of Nintendo's major channels - My Nintendo Channel - has a Freeloader block! I've actually bitten the bullet and got myself a freeloader after lots of too-ing and throwing. Deliciously gory No More Heroes shall be mine! -
