  1. Bound High! NA release: N/A JP release: N/A Developer: Japan System Supply Publisher: Nintendo Ending the Virtual Boy retrospective on a high note, Bound High is a cancelled Virtual Boy game that was fully complete, and is actually a ton of fun. You played as a small see-through ball as it bounces up and down, with the camera looking on from above. This means you’re constantly moving backwards and forwards as the level zooms in and out. On a 3DS screen, this looks great and isn’t disorienting in any way. The objective in each level is simple: take out all enemies. Throughout the game, you’ll encounter enemies with require different tactics to defeat, and you’ll have to use various types of blocks to achieve this, such as timing your jumps on one-use blocks so that there’s an enemy on it when it vanishes, or using bounce pads to jump high up into the air to break the shells of tougher enemies. Each concept is introduced slowly before being used in more difficult situations, so Bound High constantly keeps you on your toes. There’s even boss stages for every world. The developers manage to do a lot with a simple concept. There’s also an additional mode called “Pocket and Cushion” which is like a cross between pool and crazy golf, where you have to pocket the balls in a limited time using the mechanics of the game. There’s a good amount of levels and it helps extend the game by using the satisfying core gameplay in a different way. After Bound High! was cancelled, Japan System Supply used the main character for the game and used him in a 2D platformer on the Game Boy called Chalvo 55. Fun Remake or remaster? It would have been great to see this on the 3DS, but as Japan System Supply went out of business in 2000 and parts were acquired by different countries, it might be difficult to find out who actually owns it. -- This was a really fun little side project that I was able to do on my lunch breaks. Trying these games out on a 3DS is great.
  2. If Cranky is still super old yet DK is now a kid, then perhaps is is a new DK (as Cranky is the original DK)
  3. Another concerning omission is the lack of any mention of analogue shoulder buttons. Without them, then you'll need to use a GameCube controller to play games like F-Zero GX properly. I'm not sure the in built remapping (at least it's pet game now, great for N64 games) will be good enough to take full advantage of what you need.
  4. Yes.... Totally intentional...
  5. So they're supposedly not chickening out this time and are giving us an actual story and not whenever idiocy they did in Age of Calamity.
  6. Box art: The banner is so big yet so empty.
  7. But that doesn't make sense, as their digital price is more expensive than ours, while physical (the one that would be affected by tariffs) is the same. The Wii U had facetime chat at no extra cost. Didn't even need to buy a camera.
  8. Accessory compatibility : https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/68426 Some interesting notes - Switch 1 power cable can be used to charge Switch 2, just not power it in TV mode. - You can use a standard microSD in a Switch 2 to view screenshots on video taken on a Switch 1. I wonder why you can't run Switch 1 games from one, it seems strange to just add support for screenshots.
  9. To make the game pricing even more confusing, the USA doesn't seem to be having different prices for digital and physical, Mario Kart just seem to be $80 for both (with DK $70). Converting $80 to GBP and adding VAT takes it up to £74 (or £64 for DK).
  10. So C-button wasn't just for mouse, but for something just as underwhelming. 3D Non Mario platformer, check. They're keeping separate tiers. No stylus, just an EyeToy As @Dcubed pointed out, it has a more powerful charger New slightly updated pro controller And a non-WarioWare minigame collection for the controllers. Not too bad.
  11. It's essentially a time travel sequel where they take the main story, split it into three games and alter it due to the time travel shenanigans. Remake is part one, and this version is that plus a DLC.
  12. I wonder who are developing it. I thought it was a Yooka-Laylee trailer first.
  13. I look forward to giving it a go when I get a Switch 2 in 7 or 8 years.
  14. A game using wheelchairs that won't be playable for many people with disabilities. Interesting. And some very generic sounding fantasy game.
  15. So an Astro Bot / Aperture Desk Job style pack in (presumably) game. Always neat. Edit: odd it's not pre-installed.
