Climate change displacement has begun – but hardly anyone has noticed
danny replied to Daft's topic in General Chit Chat
It was an example not to be taken literally. America isnt doing its fair share either. But like i have said no one is prepared to put themselves at a disadvantage economically. So the only way forward is for everyone to do there fair share. Im not saying america, europe, india or china can do this on there own. But equally none of these are going to attempt to on there own either. My point is you cant justify polluting the world in 2009 just because Europe and america did 200 years ago. -
Well i have just bought my own house. I used u switch to get my gas and electric supplier. N power were the best of a bad bunch for me. I havent bothered with internet at home. As im hardly there and im not paying for a phone line. Have you started buying stuff for the house kitchen etc. Its unreal how much stuff you actually need. If you havent sit down and right a list and start buying before you move out. Me and my girlfriend had nearly everything we needed before we moved in.

What sort of place are you moving in to. Might make it easier for people to advise. Privatley owned, rented or halls of residence?

That argument annoys me. Yes the west trashed the world for that time. But and its a big BUT people didnt really know what was going on. Fast forward to 2009 and we have a fair idea of what damage is being down and the west is making inroads to help prevent it. But if other massive countrys arnt going to play abll as well it makes it hard for everyone else. Money goes the world go arround and if by making the west green is going to bankrupt us bankrupt as everything can be produced in an un green east then govenments are going to strugle to do as much as they would like. The same goes. What happened 200 years ago can not be used to justify what is happening today. Its not fair but the world isnt fair. People used to OWN people as there slaves 300 years ago. That dosent mean it was right then. Or that it would be right for someone in india or china to do it today -

Im not sure your point does stand. Ok china may have way way more people, but how many of those people are actually making this CO2? Whereas in america it probably more evenly spread across the population. -
I would say that about right.

Im not comparing torys and BNP there just the 2 partys i would consider voting for. Well were until i saw his comments about Gurkhas. Its not childish about the motorbike thing. Why shoudnt they have to wear a helmet. Why should i have to risk killing someone because they wernt wearing a helmet, i could cause an accident and have to live with it for the rest of my life. Have what ever beliefs you want but rules should apply to everyone not some, if that means you cant ride a motor bike then thats your choice.
-
Well on that policy alone i deffinatly will not vote for them. But i have to say i still standby my comments that i think they do make some sense. Why shoudnt everyone have to wear a crash helmet on a motorbike? if you choose a religion that means you cant do this then dont ride a motor bike. Sharia law has no place in Britain. If people want to live under sharia law then go to one of the many countrys that practice it. British law may not be perfect but it is a lot fairer than sharia law. I will be voting Tory now deffinatly. And i really think they are going to walk it any way. zanu labour are so unpopular and the UK is bassically a 2 party country.

I find it amusing how so many of you on here seem to make out that you are liberal/left or whatever. yet are quick to judge me, other people who think like me and call what i think stupid. I did on purpose forget to put my main reason for thinking about voting BNP (to see what reaction i would get) and that would be just to make a point. The other partys need to put there houses in order other wise people are going to be driven to partys such as the BNP. As for the Torys being self serving, I think every party is self serving. This has been highlighted this week that you cant trust very many of them. And as for which groups havent put anything in to the country. I woudnt say there are any 'groups' which havent put anything in. But there are a lot af individuals that have. The Gurkhas on the other hand have all put something in, at the very least they have all pledged to defend the country with there life if needs must. And suerly that must count for something. And before you say it yes there are many brits who put fuck all. But were stuck with them.
-
Im not certain it would. I think the BNP would see that the Gurkhas have actually put something in to the country.
-
Why the system a joke then? Doesent that just mean there arnt enough people who are intrested enough. Or that the seat is that safe its not worth anyone ele bothering?
-
What do you mean by that.
-
I might vote BNP not because i actually want them to really win. Just that inspite of some of the racist tones they still seem to speak the most sense to me. And the other partys are all clowns. I would never vote labour they fucked the country up well and truely. Lib dems are just far to urgh.... i think in politics you need someone who will take hard choices and i dont think this is hte lib dems. The torys i would really consider. But they need to move a bit further right in my view. And the green party i woudnt even entertain. Not after having had to cross demo lines at faslane where they have been in presence. UKIP i dont know enough about them. So really it comes down to BNP or the Torys.

As i havent really ever seen one before that didnt use colour. And i really didnt want colour. It still looks a bit weird must have had goosebumps when i had the pic taken.

Just an update a gurkha from 1st battalion the royal gurkha regiment was killed yesterday, alongside a member of the royal millitary police. Cpl Pun was killed whilst mentoring the afghan national police. His wife is said to have been left unable to walk or talk by the news of her husbands death. And the most sickening part? Not the fact this man was killed whilst trying to help a country to stand on its own feet. But the fact that his now widdow does not have the right to remain in the country her husband died fighting for. Shamefull dosent even come close. In balance the govenment has said they would not seek to deport the widow of a fallen soldier. But it should be set out in stone and be there right.

Guess it depends how badly done to they fell. I guess he took offence to people turning up at his house with big knives and telling him not to be there in a few days time.

I have a zimbabwean friend (or rhodesian as he likes to be called, even though he wasnt born when rhodesia was a state) he called them it one day and its kind of stuck for me.
-
Exactly. It annoys me to an extent to. Because things have improved massivley for the Gurkhas since zanu labour came to power, just not enough. And the torys were in power for more than long enough last time to sort this out. But better late than never. And they are mugging of GB which is always good.
