A bolt tore through the air at such speed and force it tore it's target asunder. Marcamillian is dead. He was Spiral, body transfiguring and magic-wielding malevolant mistress of Mojoworld!

An update of what what Queen Minaj has been up to since this thread was last updated. She had her biggest hit so far with the summery Super Bass, originally not even on the album! It was a bonus track that she obviously thought had single potential so quickly shoved it onto later pressings of the album. She had a guest verse on Where Them Girls At with Guetta and Flo Rida: She's currently touring with Britney Spears but I hate that idea so I never think about it. She did however contribute to the vastly superior remix of Britney's song Till The World Ends (with Ke$ha). And her new single is Fly featuring Rihanna. Not my fave of hers, but possibly hit material. She also has a song to herself on David Guetta's new album which is v. catchy, and is mostly sung rather than rapped. Here ends the update on her life and times. If anyone cares.

I listened to one of her intended comeback singles (that didn't gain any momentum obviously) last night and it wasn't anywhere near the heights of the two in this thread.

In the realm of 'events' I'm actually grateful it isn't over the top or overlong. Read Generation Hope 10 too, it ties in/makes issue 3 more worth it.

Next in my seires of acclaimed threads regarding forgotten forgotten R'n'B femmes of the 00's... Â¥∆∆≈ CASSIE ≈∆∆Â¥ Best known for her hit song, Me & U. It makes me depressed to hear after I watched the film Fish Tank, though. It was recently brought to my attention that she in fact had another hit, Long Way 2 Go, which I forgot existed, yet somehow knew all the words. My fayv song. I love the 'erotic' use of her lapop, juxtaposed with the dog on the sofa. Iconic video. What is 1.18? I don't know what that face is meant to suggest. I love. I want a posse too. I don't think she's technically singing in either song, it's just a joke voice to hear speak vaguely rîthmically. Of her only two notable songs I prefer LW2G to Me & U. She is a stunning woman too. RATE? SLATE? HATE? MATE? DATE?

night's over ‘Die you country bumpkin!’ shouts the woman, firing countless rounds from her gun. However they just fizzle out upon impact, and her target shoots away. The leather-clad woman spies her target, through a really pointless illusion. day's now Scanning...Found (10) ReZourceman Jayseven heroicjanitor The Peeps Diageo Dannyboy-The-Dane MadDog Ellmeister Esequiel Marcamillian Scanning...Unavailable (8) Nintendohnut Tales Chairdriver Eevilmurray Rummy Cube mr-paul Jonnas

No, it's from quite a long time ago...they were still using the old DC logo. It starts at issue 162 or something. (Obviously 500 issues havent passed since then, I guess they at some point went back to the original numbering, making the recent issues in the 600's)

I've decided to actually read Wonder Woman. I am a fan of the character but have read like...4 actual issues of her series in my life. I'm gonna read the first issues from the Perez post-Crisis Reboot (i.e her origin for the last 25 years) and then Phil Jimenez's run since he stuns and I feel like I can skip the 90's. Daft if you want a real sense of the Wonder Woman I'd suggest starting here too. Her Flashpoint incarnation is just nothing.

I think I'm gonna buy Justice League Dark issue 1 too. It looks great and Peter Milligan is a famous great. Come on Zattana. Come on Constantine. Come on Madame X/Zanadu. -- Storm seems a little unjustly tossed to the back. :/

I like that it looks alien. And the shield isn't even necessarily an "s". Just looks like one from human perspective. Jokes.
-
Yeah few people have put it down as amongst the best of the pack so far. Excited!

Uncanny X-Force 14 Oh my god. This is possibly my fave issue of the year, of any comic. It's just perfect. UM HOW will they recover from this? I'm shocked.

I think having seen the full body+cape far off shots, a bit of red round the middle wouldn't have gone amiss. Not even a full-belt necessarily. Just something.

You should probably read some of the work that best reflects what he's talking about in Supergods (I'm reading it atm too, 3/4 through). By that I'd be talking about Animal Man, Doom Patrol, (Invisibles), his extended Batman run (though that's not my favourite thing he's ever done, it's unique), New X-Men... Just read one of his long storylines. Or just read Flex Mentallo actually. 4 issues. Done. The most *stunned* Ive ever been by a comic. Bestfavourite writer, bestfavourite artist. Yes. I died. ANYWAY. Please continue.

I don't understand when comics dont have 'previously' pages. So so stupid. Like...why not? Marvel makes the most effort with this, and often has little bios/team rosters on the same page. Like in X-Men. Things like Invincible, which are great but don't have the iconic status that keeps things like Spidey/X-Men/Batman afloat, should really have previously pages/a little summary thing. So stupid.
-
Yeah but that's where internet communities of people come in, to tell you what to read, and what to avoid. It's easy. I asked the very question, and read the main series and the Batman one (which is inessential to the main storyline), finding them fine/good, and the Wonder Woman one, which was crap. Done.
-
Read more. Read All-Star Superman. You have no excuse. It's 12 issues entirely self-contained. Then...I don't know. Any other runs of his. Not The Filth, if you found Invisibles dull. Animal Man. Just dü it. I don't believe you've reached your Morrison capacity yet. And his Batman and Robin is > Batman Inc.
-
It would look really bad if he wasn't muscular/wide. I think it looks kinda cool.
-
@Daft, what Grant Morrison stuff have you read? (continuing from last thread)

THE DAY PHASE IS OVER You're all so. NIGHT

I wish that was official. I feel like...you have no time for things like it. Or actually just that if you know what the Plan that runs through all his work, you deal with Final Crisis. There's references and characters/events from his Animal Man run in there for example. He talked about it very well when I went to see him the other day. It's about the unravelling of fiction blah etc I'm over it.

Brian Butterfield! TV News! Must View Thread!
Paj! replied to ReZourceman's topic in General Chit Chat
Is...is he that good? I don't get it. He seems like an amusing person. Maybe if I saw/met him in person or something. The only bit that got a laugh was when it went through the foods in the first vid. But then I'm a notoriously harsh/discerning-of-things-I-like critic. -
Oh. I read the first issue of that then never went back. It had at-first-seemingly interesting art, but I was unswayed. That entire storyline/event was pointless except for the iconic Storm & Gambit one-shot (drawn by Chris Bachalo) where they just *deal* with life so well. The only ramifications of the entire story is that Jubilee is now back and is a vampire.
