So I've got terraforming now and am starting to properly design my town centre. How frustrating is it that you can only move one building per day? After the town centre is sorted, I'll sort out the houses. I'm still going to live near the centre, and I'm thinking I'll create three little estates of three houses each for the rest of the villagers. I've started tidying my rivers, unfortunately I've got an out of place bridge or two now. It's such a shame it's a laborious process to move them, or should I say destroy and rebuild, especially as I just need to edge one a space or two across. I've got enough in the bank to pay off the final home loan now but holding off for a bit so I have money for Sunday's turnips.

Sure, it achieves nothing, but so does most conversation on here! It was an interesting chat to have. A lot of us agreed and shared our opinions on it. Therefore, it had value. -
Turnip Prices Thread - Playing The Market In New Horizons

And i think we are all generally voting with our wallets and not visiting islands that are charging for access. But this is a discussion forum. This is a thread about the stalk market. I think it's fair to discuss an unsavoury part of the market here. It's an interesting discussion. The turnip exchange website is a great tool, especially if you're playing and don't have many friends on it. It can be used nicely - last week when i had a price of 285 bells in my shop, I stuck my island on there to let people visit while I was working. Some people left a tip, some people didn't. It's fine, i did it to help others out and it took little effort on my part. It's almost exactly like coming onto a forum to find out who has got a good price. I think it's fair to then discuss how people are using it - if someone came on this thread and was asking you to PayPal them for access to their island it wouldn't go down well. Yes, vote with your wallet, of course, but why not discuss too?! -

Yeah i find the whole entry fee thing a bit nasty to be honest. Put up a desired items list, say tips are welcome, and if you have a high price people will give you stuff as thanks. Maybe it's me being cheap, but i'm not paying to get onto an island. Have some community spirit and help people out, and then you get the same hospitality back. -

Oh I didn't realise that! I've been doing that version of leaving too, it's so much easier! Nintendo gonna Nintendo. Might have to pop over later if you're around still darksnowman, though might save some of my turnips in case someone has 500+ another day (and because I've got two trips worth!) -
Good news from Motanui - three star rating achieved, KK Slider is coming tomorrow!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Mr-Paul replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
So I originally bought this on Wii U. In these lockdown times, I've been tempted to pick it up again for Switch, but it's still soooo bloody expensive! It's on sale on the eShop for £42, which is crazy. £33 on the South Africa eShop is a bit more tempting, but I'd prefer physical for my collection. Can't get a physicial copy for less than £45, it's mad, for something that's been out several years at this point! I wasn't even that big a fan of the game first time around, but I wanted to give it another shot on a console that I much prefer using... Anyone got a copy they want rid of? Otherwise I might bite on the SA deal at some point and just have to look out for a physical copy in the future for collection purposes. -
They never seemed common on my island... and you actually have to be in the right place at the right time on your island when they spawn / put some effort in to actually farm them. Stone eggs, tree eggs etc. I just got loads of by doing my daily rounds in the morning and on visits to Nook islands.

I completed all of the Bunny day things. I think it was quite silly them having the cherry blossom event at the same time. I didn't really bother with that, I think I only came across two recipes. Had to exchange some eggs with Zippy in order to get enough sky eggs to complete everything - they really should have addressed the imbalance here. Ended up with something like 130 stone eggs spare. Balloon drops should have given three sky eggs maybe, not one. I know you get more for selling the eggs if you craft them into items, but i'm not sure it's really worth the bother. My island rating has gone up to 2 stars this morning, so aiming to do some outdoors decoration and get that up to 3 as soon as possible so KK can come. Had a new villager move in as well. Truffles. I don't like her. She's got a stupid face. And I've already got a pig on this island, Kevin.

I went to a place on the turnip exchange selling for 91. Went all in with my savings, took two trips and bought 7500. This week's profits should pay off my home loans, and then I can start really working on the island layout. -

Who has got a good price this morning then? 100 on mine. -
The point is, it should be fun. Ultimately, the game should have achievable goals for children. Having to catch 200+ fish in one day is not. Yeah, I know there's so much about this game that is repetitive, but it's working towards long-term goals in small bits, which you can mix-up as you please. Agree that 100 points should have been a realistic top prize for a one day event. This format didn't respect your time at all, especially with the clunky text you have to go through to enter/sell/redeem prizes.
-
Do the points count carry on to further tournaments? I can see myself grinding it enough today to get 100, but there's no way I'm wasting my day to get 300.

Result for you then! I'm surprised Nintendo allow time travelling with how draconian/shite everything about this game's online is! -

287 bells this morning. That looks like it'll be my weekly high. -
Sorry, I missed this! Was busy making my own tarantula island. Finally managed to catch five of the buggers. Now I won't bother unless I end up on the actual Tarantula Island.
-
Yeah, I realise it's probably fine to leave them/ But you know, that pressure to breed them and create nice flowerbeds to attract bugs! Anyway, bottom of my priority list!
-
Oh that would be great, thank you! My latest turnip sale has allowed me to pay off the third room of my house, and I've paid for another bridge. Will prob make a bit more infrastructure investment the rest of this week, and hopefully save at least half a million to invest on Sunday. My island is still a bit messy. I need to chop down a lot of trees I reckon. And I don't particular enjoy planting and watering flowers. Can I pay a gardener to come in and do that for me? 😜

Didn't get to check mine this morning, but this afternoon my place is buying for 174. If the spreadsheet tool is right, I could be on for a big spike tomorrow morning! If its wrong, I'll find somewhere to go. But if you haven't sold yet, I'll open my gates tomorrow if I've got the good price. Can open tonight if anyone is interesting in selling at 174. -
Hardly seen any balloons in the last couple of days. I still need some sky eggs to finish off all the recipes - I've got an absolute ton of all the other types! Damn that update!
