Stand out games of the generation
Drunken_Squirrel replied to Drunken_Squirrel's topic in Other Consoles
I enjoyed Halo 2's single palyer more than combat evolved. I think this is down to the fact that H:CE was hyped too much that it fell short of what i was expecting, yet i went into H2 with less expectations. Maybe. -
Battling my Pokemon online would have made me cry with exitement a few years back. It's a superb idea.

Correct. What sig, the RVD one?

Stand out games of the generation

What are the chances of the Shenmues coming out on the virtual console? Are Sega limiting themselves to Mega Drive era or Has DC been mentioned yet? -
Thanks for them. This one's also been highly recomended to me elsewhere, and its the cheapest. Does it look like it can do the job for me? Thanks again.

I've just got broadband and I want to be able to connect my laptop in a different room. I also then want to use my laptop to connect my 360 to the internet I've looked on various sites and some say Wireless B, and Wireless S and I haven't got a fúcking clue what all that is about. So can anybody suggest to me the best model, price and place to get one please. Thanks in advance.

Stand out games of the generation
Drunken_Squirrel replied to Drunken_Squirrel's topic in Other Consoles
And I did. Today. Appoximatley 4 years after I bought it. For the past 12 days i've set myself the task of doing a level a day if it killed me. It isn't the only game i haven't completed anymore though, as I bought Chibi Robo, Battalion Wars, Paper Mario and VJ2 in the US the other week, and i've started buying Final Fantasy form the beggining. Even so, I happened to order A 360 off Play.com yesterday, and it was shipped, funnily enough, today. So the statement "Perhaps i should amend that before i move on" was a bit of a prophecy. :awesome: -
Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
Drunken_Squirrel replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Zelda is something i've tried not to think about, at always seemed to be so far off. Now that i've preordered it today, i've found myself playing Ocarina in my head and remembering different scenarios from it the first time through. It took me two months to complete OOT, the most memorable two months that this form of entertainment will ever give me. Now the excitement has started. And it may become unbearable. 72 days. 72 fúcking days. -
Just got the e-mail from GAME. Recieved it at 16:39, and pre ordered it by 16:55. I think i should get one. :awesome: Oh yeah, with Red Steel and Zelda.

The Zelda one made me ejaculate.

You definatley pay at the time of release. Last time money was harder to come by so it allowed me to get Luigi's mansion with the money taken off. I was made up.

I used GAME online to pre order my Gamecube and DS. Gamecube arrived on the day, DS arrived a day early. It's the most reliable online service i've come across as i've ordered 15+ games in the last few years and they either come the day before release or release day, so i'll be using it again as soon as possible. Console+Zelda+Splinter Cell+Red Steel

The 179 price was also met with the same response as this today, which most probably prompted them to change it. That and lack of sutained interest. So complain for a couple more days, then ignore it for avout a month, and you've got yourself an easy 50 quid.
-
When the Gamecube launch was announced, it was going to be £179. It later dropped to £130 a couple of weeks before release. Just saying like....
-
I wonder when they'll realise no one is taking in a word they are saying.

I don't follow the industry as much as i did a few years ago, and things seem to have changed a bit from what i did. I'm looking at the specs for the next gen consoles and i can't see anything that is similar to what used to be the common way of determining a systems power. Has it stopped moving up in stages, has the hardware drastically changed to make that type way of distinguishing impossible, or am I just not looking hard enough? What will this generation be known as?

Is FF XI an online specific game? I do not have the facilties at home for this so that might be a write off. Would i be missing anything if i let that one slide and just focused on the rest? -
Final Fastasy from the beginning
Drunken_Squirrel replied to Drunken_Squirrel's topic in Other Consoles
I like to do things chronologically. If i've done them then they will help me to enjoy the others more because i won't have a feeling that i've missed something in the back of my mind. I yam what I yam. -

I got IV today. I'll stay on the look out for I+II then get III when it comes out. I've got the ball rolling anyway. -
Final Fastasy from the beginning
Drunken_Squirrel replied to Drunken_Squirrel's topic in Other Consoles
Oh ok, so I could just jump straight in at any point in the series without taking anything away? That makes things easier. As does the fact that I+II are on the same cart. I'll mainly be on the lookout for them for now. Thanks. -
Due to the fact that in the past i have tended to avoid any game that involved severe usage of numbers, Until today i have never owned a Final Fantasy game. Im on holiday in Florida and picked up a copy of Crystal Chronicals on the cheap. I've used to this as my cue to finally get into the series from the beginning. I know that there have been a number of remakes on the GBA, so i've just done a search. Upon finding that FF IV is really FF II, I realised it wasn't going to be as easy as it first seemed. So can anybody please give me the best place to start the series, and a mchronological order for all rellevent titles so I can be on the look out for them. Thanks in advance.
