I really didn't see PSN stuff not carrying forward, it's all based on the Cell so they can't keep supporting it with the PS4. A lot of people are going to be burned this generation with all the DLC and digital games bought over the last however many years. I can see it happening with Microsoft too. If you thought Nintendo charging a tiny amount to upgrade Virtual Console titles to support Wii U had a backlash...

By the sounds of it that's the plan, but it's a longterm goal, I don't expect we'll see it at launch.

I can understand why, but it's a shame. Hopefully the cable that comes with it will be longer than my arm this time :p

Absolutely, completely agree it's an amzing idea. Should be good for 'let's plays' too. That's Miiverse's charm! But to me, it does feel like a community, which I really like. It's Nintendo Facebook.

I love how friendly Miiverse is. It's slightly un-nerving.

I agree with your points about how the physics engines etc will improve over the consoles lifetime, but as it stands now, it's only the concept of the console that is really exciting, the streaming capabilities, the instant on/off mode and yes the graphics are impressive, but showing off sequels and third party games was not a great way to convince me to buy their games console. It's still all to play for yet, but I can only react to what I've seen, I look forward to seeing something I like.

Completely agree, it's a really exciting feature, but I would argue that it won't effect the gameplay, just how you advertise it.

I would say revolutionizing ideas = quality games. The FPS genre was a revolutionary idea once for example...now it feels like they are beating a dead horse. Destiny seems impressive with the whole 'shared world' concept, but I am so far from interested in the new Killzone unless they show me how it does things the PS3 couldn't do gameplay-wise.

Yeah, just looked in it properly and I stand corrected, still, very impressive screenshots :P Looking across the board, I am surprised by the lukewarm reaction to the reveal, I expected 'graphics nuts' to be salivating over it, maybe our interests have change or was the conference hyped by he press too much?

In my case, it's not the graphics that have been disappointing, they are obviously very high end, but the PS4 games on show so far. Show me something different. There are some insanely impressive Skyrim mods that have blown me away.

So the Dualshock 4, it's like an add-on for the PS3 right?

My thoughts when waching the conference were if this is all Sony's got, the Wii U won't have any trouble once the games start coming. This is Sony, I can't see them pricing this thing in a way to appeal to the general crowd. I also find it funny how to get off-tv play you'll have to pay even more. Saying that I really like the cloud stuff and the social aspects, I use screen grab on the Wii U all the time so uploading video is a big deal to me. They just haven't convinced me yet with the games. They showed me one exclusive that interests me (Knack), the rest were more of the same so I'm not interested, and they showed is a bunch of multiplatform games that I could play on the Nextbox. This conference's purpose should have been to convince me that I needed the PS4 in my life. It didn't in my opinion. Microsoft's reveal could be just as bad, who knows. I will probably get a PS4, but a few years down the line like I did with the PS3

I found that really dull overall. I'm really excited about the capabilities of the console, but the games announcements were pretty terrible Killzone *yawn*, Not Grand Turismo *sigh*, Infamous *again?*, Diablo 3 *really!?* and why were Square-Enix even there?! It was all smoke and mirrors and some obvious pre-rendering with a UI attached. The best news I've heard all day is that Watch Dogs is coming out on the Wii U.

Well that was excellent. Nice to get some release dates and some new great looking games. Nintendo in panic mode are the best.

Yeah the three genies are pretty strange looking. I find their alt formes from Black/White 2 much better.

Also, if it is flying, it will likely be our first pure flying type that isn't a legendary.

I like it. "ニン" for "nin" has to come from "ニンバス" for "ninbasu" which of course is "nimbus"- a type of cloud. Totally Flying type.

This is absolutely disgusting. I was a big fan of the Dead Island and the fact that some PR person thought this statue was a good idea has meant I will not buy the sequel. There isn't even any indication that it's even a zombie, so for all intents and purposes they are giving away a foot high model of the grossly sexualised torso of the victim of a violent assault. I'm seriously getting sick of the misogyny in the gaming industry.

The movies you can make in the current games are pretty great though.

Do you know what I'm really excited about? Previously, with the wait between the Japan and our release, I'd already know everything there was to know about the games before I got my hands on it. This time, I will be able to go in blind. So excited. Also also, I can finally make a team of my favourite' mon from each gen. Innovation shminnovation, what I like about Pokemon is I know what I'm getting. A nice adventure, collecting awesome Pokemon and fighting bad guys/trainers, gym leaders.
