  1. That's my dream. Get rid of the waggle and let me play with buttons and i'll be there day one.

If they re-release Skyward Sword it will HAVE to have a button only option for those that have not got a wiimote and for those of us that disliked the controls

See, I don't get this. I thought the controls were incredible in SS. It was the game which finally showcased what the Wii remote could do without just resorting to waggle. They took a while to learn of course, but once mastered I for one didn't want to go back. The final boss showdown in particular was amazing, mainly thanks to the controls. Reworking the entire game for button controls would be a lengthy process and would, in my opinion, negetively impact the experience.

I definitely agree about padding though. If they could streamline it, like they did with WW, it would be great. They'd also have to remove at least one of the fights with The Imprisioned as there was too much of that nonsence.

I still think in Zelda U we'll see some degree of motion control. At least as much as in the WW and TP remakes.

  2. About this weekend's fixtures, I really hope that Leicester don't win the title as a result of Spurs losing to Chelsea. What I mean here is if Leicester draw or lose to United and then Spurs don't do enough against Chelsea to keep the title race going we won't see the reaction of the Leicester players and Ranieri on the pitch. That would be a huge shame after everything we've all been through. I want to see the emotion of them finally having 'done it' live. That is, of course, IF they do it ;)

  3. I agree with DCubed here. We have had an unprecedented number of new Zelda titles in the past 6 years. The remakes have all been the definitive versions of their respective games and it has been a pleasure to replay them all. Hyrule Warriors scratched the Zelda itch I didn't even know I had and the two new games on 3DS also provided a few hours of fun. At least we know that a 6 year develoment cycle will make Zelda Wii U the Best Zelda Ever™.

I do think we'll see Skyward Sword HD before Zelda Wii U, then they would've re-released their whole back catalogue in the run up to the new one. Of all the HD remasters, that would be the one I'm most looking forward too, a criminally underrated and underappreciated game. My WiiMotion+ controller and body are ready.

  4. Sorry to hear about that, Nicktendo. :( Good luck getting it sorted.

Oh, that sucks. Hope it gets sorted soon!

Everything is fine, thanks guys! They've turned the water off in our building and I've had a Russian lesson I'll never forget! All in all a successful night, just a bit less motion control than I would've wanted on a Thursday

  5. Really sorry I didn't show up tonight, hope you didn't wait too long for me. A pipe's burst above my flat and there's water everywhere. Was really looking forward to this theme as well. Oh well, see you guys in 3 weeks, will be out for the next two.

  6. So what does everyone think after the first three races?

Glad the qualifying saga is behind us and we can (maybe) concentrate on the racing. We've had three cracking races so far and hopefully Sochi will serve up another good one.

Rosberg has been MEGA, while Hamilton has just been plain unlucky but will come back strong, I'm sure. I still think this will be a mightily close season, especially with Ferrari and even Red Bull not too far behind. Love how mixed up the midfield is this year, and the Haas story is one of the best we've had in years. Can see Kvyat being dumped in favour of Verstappen mid-season if he doesn't become more consistent (China was a good showing), which would really spice up the battles at the front.

Slightly off topic but has anyone been watching Formula E? Really been enjoying the series since its inception and like how it offers something completely different to F1 but still has good drivers and close racing. Next race is this weekend, give it a chance if you haven't yet, you might be pleasently surprised.

  7. Going back to the UK next week for a holiday so I'm going to let the dust settle before I go out and buy it. Looking forward to hearing all of your opinions on it, particularly Dcubed's review. Been playing the 3DS version in anticipation and it's still such a great game.

  8. I'm also losing interest, but the platinum coins still draw me in to complete my daily challenges. Frankly I think we are not the target audience for the app, particularly as it's very Japanese culture centric, rather than Nintendo centric. Certainly we're not the ones who are spending money on it. I think the target audience is people in their teens who are looking for something a little different, a new kind of social network. This will be the real test of its longevity, whether it can prove popular with this audience, though I somehow doubt it will happen in the West.

Personally, I much preferred Tomodachi Life, me and my girlfriend spent months playing that, creating our friends and celebrities. Together we've sunk over 150 hours into it. But she's already given up on Miitomo (not surprising seeing as how I'm her only friend on there) and like I said my interest is already waning. It will be interesting to see what updates they bring to the table.

  9. I actually do as well, but that's for playing NTSC GCN/MD/NeoGeo games and my NTSC Wii game collection.

Really annoying that I can't get the GCN/MD/NG consoles' games on my Wii U (50hz garbage via the Wii menu doesn't count, 60hz or bust!)

I had an NTSC Wii for the same reason but that died a couple of years ago, so I took by parents PAL one and use homebrew on it because Nintendo were unable to help me. Finding another US console proved to be a pain (I also figured I'd already paid for the games once so it's no big deal). Just one more argument for a unified account system and the end of region locking, I do really hope we'll see that on NX, but I'm not holding my breath.

  10. Im also in the side of having everything available on the one machine. I have my Wii wired up next to my Wii U but never use it, can't be bothered re-synching the controllers and have even got a couple of Wii games on the eshop because of this. I think NES - N64 VC are a given on the system but I'd also love to see the GC, Wii and Wii U games supported in some way even if NX games don't use those controllers.

  11. So I've been spending a lot of time with this over the past few days (15 or so hours in) and am now able to win a battle losing only one or two guys, sometimes none. What a game this is though! I can't believe I hadn't given this series a go before and I'm now eagerly awaiting Fates. I think Awakening is the perfect introduction to the series and I'm not at all surprised it sold so well.

  12. Much appreciated @Glen\-i that makes the game make a lot more sense and I don't have to trawl the web seeking answers.

What do the Fairys do? IE are they worth it etc.

Now to get back to the game :D

The fairies are absolutely worth it and almost required to finish some of the harder squares in adventure mode. Finding all the clothes and food really powers them up and they can become absolutely vital if you get into a tight spot and need 200+ kills in the space of a second, or if you need help taking out a tricky boss. They're also very useful when trying to get gold medals as they can vastly improve your kill count or save you heaps of time.
