I always ask first.

Yes. They can even trash your town, but we're good folk. They can take all the peaches they want from me, as my native fruit they're pretty much worthless (unless perfect).

Can I ask everyone who hasn't named their character after their forum name to put their forum name in their profile comment area? As in the speech box you see next to people's character picture. I remember most of you but sometimes I forget... -

Yeah I often encourage host saving. Too bad you can't save on the island... -

Sweet I need apples. I might be back around half 6, will check out your town if you're still on then. -
No it doesn't. The only way it can punish you is if you set your date to far in the future and you find you're overrun with weeds and villagers may have left. For 1 hour there's no difference.

Man, I paid off the 200k loan so am getting the next house upgrade tomorrow. 300k next...yikes.

At first I was skeptical that they were willing to change much between iterations but this version is really nice, there's a lot put into it. The biggest change is the degree of control you have over your town and environment. You can bring laws into effect, change the appearance of your house (there's a lot to customise) and build structures around the town. On top of this you have a main shopping street as well as an island you can visit with more shops, creatures and games to play. The network features are also pretty sweet for this game, considering it's Nintendo I'm pretty impressed. This is easily my favourite game on the system so far. It's going to last a heck of a long time. I'd say its incredible value for money, but the funny thing is I didn't even pay for it!

Definitely. I'll be online from about 6:45PM GMT + 1. Bring whatever isn't oranges or peaches. :p
-
I mean that I want to plant foreign perfect fruits, and to do so I was offering my own native perfect fruits in exchange.
-
At the beginning of the game usually 1 of your fruit will be perfect. You'll know it's perfect because it looks different. For my peaches, a perfect fruit means it's golden. Perfect fruit trees only give a few cycles worth of fruit though, unlike regular fruit trees. But they sell for loads.

Ah that's why. Yeah been raining lots.
-
Nothing, there's just lots of them and they look and behave different and make different sounds. Since a couple of days ago I suddenly seem to be finding like 3 a day. Careful, the axe can break. Fair enough, but I think it might be hard to ever come in this topic since someone will probably always have something you don't. Such a big game.

Yeah I basically couldn't leave your town and couldn't save what I did since you weren't about. I could see people trying to join but it kept failing. I don't the recommend afk gaming on this one. -
That sounds right actually. Char fishing times are between 4AM-9AM and 4PM-9PM. Unfortunately when I realised it was some time after 11PM. Congrats on the Coelacanth. By the time I realised it was raining/snowing specific, it had stopped raining that day in my town. Fuck it.

Yes, Tom Nook turns up with a baseball bat and shatters your kneecaps.
-
Absolutely. You will quite literally ruin the game experience for yourself if you start time travelling. It's completely missing the point of the game. In other news, this page has a really good explanation for how to spot Redd's fakes (so we can avoid buying fake goods when he has 4 things on display). I think given none of us are art connoisseurs, we'd probably have difficulty spotting fake art ourselves so this seems fair game. He also doesn't turn up that often so it's a real bummer if you end up with a fake. Can't believe they didn't mention this to you in game! My island is available today, will go there after work.

I built a new bridge (completed today) so I can get around easier now! Also my night owl ordinance has kicked in today so the shops will be open later (like Re-tail which will be apparently open til 3AM now). Perfect for someone like me. When you think about it though, the only circumstance in which you won't get your e-shop games back is if you lose your 3DS. If you lose your 3DS with your physical inside you also lose the game. Admittedly you won't lose all your games though, unless you lose your 3DS inside its case with a load of other games. Nintendo really need a cloud save system like Sony, as well as accounts for redownloading software.

You can use them later to make custom items

I caught a hammerhead shark! Woot. I've since found out that the paintings Redd sells on Saturday...you can work out whether they're fake or not by looking at them. Wish I knew that before, heh.

Interesting that the few people I can't connect to seem able to connect to each other. Maybe it's a regional issue... Edit: couldn't connect to Jimbob (Darius) just now either. -

I'd think it doesn't work. Really if you can work out if DMZ is possible then that'll be the way. Rather than looking for 'DMZ' look for the option to turn the firewall on the router off. It's basically what DMZ - an off firewall. -

I couldn't connect to you, and when you joined my game it crashed me. Not sure why this happens with a couple of people (another is Ville). Have other people connected to you OK? Hmm weird. I have DMZ enabled my router and assigned a static IP. Generally most people seem able to connect to me (at least 8-9 have connected to me so far). I think most routers will have DMZ, have you tried searching your model? -
