Every single legendary is better than the normal version of the same counterpart. A synth right leg with -15% damage from super mutants is always better than a synth right leg with no perk, for instance. That +50% damage modifier is something I got just randomly, as well as one making me deal 50% more damage to animals. I guess what you're saying is you don't get enough things with perks you like, or that the perk system is ramdom? Again, I don't disagree that it's pretty random, but in my experience playing on hard makes it so that you're always getting loot with good perks as there's just so many legendary enemies. As for the upgrade system not making sense, I'm not sure where to go with that. One of my favourite levelling up systems is basically a board game that loads up in front of you (Final Fantasy X). For me, whether a progression mechanic makes any sense will always firmly take a back seat to whether I can run 50% faster or fire 2 nukes at once up a deathclaw's jacksie.

Legendary weapons are totally the opposite of worthless compared to normal weapons. Once you get a sniper rifle with +50% damage to humans (or any other perk), for instance, there is literally no reason to have a regular sniper rifle. They are exactly the same, and can be upgraded the same, except one does more damage to humans. Legendary weapons also tend to sell for a lot more - my legendary fat man has a value of thousands. Mine is also classed as 'lucky', so does double damage when I fire it as a critical shot. Pretty rad, if you'll excuse the pun. There's also a lot of weapons/legendaries that are rewards from specific quests, like previously, as well as from specific locations and enemies. One of my favourite melee weapons is a guaranteed fist weapon from a big enemy. I do agree that the system for acquiring legendaries from randomly spawning enemies is a bit hit and miss though. That's really the reason I play on hard - you encounter so many legendary enemies that it averages out, so you do get good weapons with good perks as well as shit ones.

@DriftKaiser @Eddage @Zell @Deathjam @Shorty says he is free actually on Thursday this week, if you guys would like to resume the raid on our other 2 characters for some juicy loots.

The one piece suits are generally quite a bit worse than upgraded individual pieces. You can have perks on each piece too, like take less damage from humans. Have a complete set and you'll take next to nothing from humans.

Seeing as this is the first Wii U game to really need the hard drive for something useful it makes complete sense that a lot of people haven't bought a hard drive just for their Wii U. Most digital prices are a rip off so there's little incentive to get the digital versions. I also don't need to download VC games as I did all that back on the Wii, and have most of the Wii games still in disc format that I ever really wanted to play. I won't be buying a hard drive just for this.

Nobody said it wasn't. It still sucks balls. Sure, there is - the 360 and PS3 lasted 7-8 years. That is a much better measure of modern day generations than generations from 10, 20 or 30 years ago. Put it this way - when the PS1 and N64 came out there were clearly massive boosts in graphics; same with PS2 and gamecube, and the PS3 and 360 offered both HD and massive online gaming renovations. In other words - big reasons to get new systems out to the public. Now the jumps graphically and features-wise are not so huge. Existing consoles hit the right spot for longer. As the modern gaming scene matures I've no doubt we'll see longer generations again, providing the next thing isn't something truly groundbreaking like a VR focused device in the next few years.

Yup. All my alts at least 313 with best gear.

Yeah sounds good. If the loot changes with every challenge then it's possible the artifact won't be available every week.
-
Here's hoping that's the full game! They definitely said the game would be out this year.
-
Insane that they ever thought that was an acceptable amount. No idea if I can make space for this.
-
Yeah 320 artifact sounds good. Let's do it.
-
Yeah I'm up for that, put me down for that. Should be on for 7:30/8 for sure. Hard mode I reckon.
-
4 years for a console many paid £300 for in a generation where the other consoles look set to last another 7-8 again is very short indeed.
-
Yeah and amiibo. What a bunch of sell outs, eh.

Ah man, this is the Nintendo doing mobile situation all over again, isn't it? It's always the same people guessing wrong.

I wanna see The Tomorrow Children!

Dis guy noes.

I might not be on until later. Maybe we can just do the whole thing again later in the week on a new signup.

Eurogamer just gave this an essential rating. Reading their review, this is making me a lot more interested than I was a month ago. Think I'll be asking for this as a Christmas present.

Yeah was thinking of posting this, makes for a very good read. I agree with it - certain types of games become more fashionable (e.g. the loot, RPG mechanics and aiming down sights). While on the other hand, some mechanics start to feel old. Sticking to old concepts and not embracing enough new/fashionable elements is one of my bigger complaints for Nintendo games actually.
-
Nah, they have already said no more NX footage this year.
-
I tend to spend them on acquiring a year 2 exotic (if you had the year 1 you can get an upgrade at the terminal). Other than that, planetary materials, or iron banner weapons/armour. Infusion costs mostly balance out with things you scrap. You'll get quite a lot of marks just doing trials/iron banner so you should still have some left over when you come to buying your IB loot.

Well, in my opinion, and in the opinion of many, they don't have much variation. That is the important thing here - opinion; some people may feel they have a varied output, while others don't. To me, a lot of their games feel quite similar, either in style, tone or gameplay. A lot of their games are platformers, or games we have seen from them before. When I see Smash 4 and Mario Kart 8 I don't think 'what variation in output' (call me unfair). Seeing the same sorts of games again and again makes me think Nintendo's output is the same kind of fare I've had many times before. We also don't see as many indie games as we do on other platforms and those sorts of games feel far more varied to me than the bigger games. They don't have many FPS games or the big sorts of games like Witcher 3. No realistic racers, and very few brand new titles in a new universe like Splatoon. I honestly don't feel the variation is there. When I think Nintendo consoles I think of very specific kinds of games, not a wide breadth of titles like I think of when I think PS4.

Not a cool way to talk to people, man. Not cool at all.
