I guess I see where you're coming from with Catan, though it isn't something that I really think of(it does make sense when you think about it, though). Whilst the theme of Dominion is just there to fit, many of the cards do fit to it in most senses(Witches, Saboteurs, Barons and so forth).
-
Ohh I see. Yeah, that's kinda accurate, it's fairly irrelevant. Having said that, I'm not sure how themed I'd call Catan in comparison? Though I haven't played too much of the expansions and the one time I did it was kinda cool, but it's more about the gameplay/trading than it is the theme, too, isn't it?

Then this makes our culprit Smeagol. How does DuD know Smeagol targetted him, though? No wait, he said HE targetted Smeagol? Then what happened to Smeagol! Actually, I've changed my mind, I'm going to Vote:Smeagol too.

Weak theme? How do you mean? It definitely doesn't work in explanation, it's just so much more intuitive when you're playing. There's some about its design though that makes you want to play it more, it's luck of the draw that you have some control over, and it's competitive without being too directly competitive(which for some is a downside).

Solid argument there, friend. I've already stated my reasons, I find it strange something would cripple town so much. Peeps confirmed Dohnut somewhat, Dohnut was first, I think you're going along for the show. Unless someone can explain why TWO people are currently typing like absolute puree.

Ahh, shoulda mentioned me! Will get on it later today hopefully. I haven't actually drawn anything on this since last week, should get back on it really.

Voting for me voting for you? Classic mafia tactic.

What's happening with Goafer and Danny? If you want me to edit anything into the first post, just give me a mention and I shall do so!

Lol, well it does look complicated but it makes much more sense once you start playing it. I guess I just can't get my love for it over in a wall of text. There's a somewhat crude online version floating about that implements all the cards(well in excess of 100, there's quite a few expansion sets), and if people are interested they can try checking that out. It's more confusing than having the actual stuff in front of you though. http://dominion.isotropic.org/

Daaaaamn, well...there's still bits for people to see, I guess? *shrugs* @ReZourceman, what's the dealie with hostels/staying etc?

Only around 3 months away now, I decided on a rainy day venue/possible post park place quite a while ago, but never actually remembered to post here. Plan is cockpit standard, and I shall try to update/shameless copy ReZ's post from last year into the first post by the weekend. Here are two quick pictures I took of le place; Up the stairs and to the left; Turn yourself around Quite spacey! It's the Red Lion, on Kingly street(parallel to Carnaby), quite close to Oxford Circus tube(~5min walk if that), and for the otherwise keen eyed of you, not too far from Trocadero either(does anyone know what's going on with that??) Trocadero arcade is dead (ty Cube). This is of course, only a rainy day plan, otherwise it's business as usual in the park of hyde! Here's some maps for location and distance from the park(probs a ten minute walk, but there wasn't much good/close by in the way of sam smiths), Relative to Hyde Park; Do we have confirmed attendees, btw?

I think he's the whut fruit bouncing round town. Cracked up motherfucker. I still think we should vote for Dohnut or DuD, DuD really as he started posting after Dohnut, I find it pretty damn unlikely someone could cripple everyone this much on the first night.

Screw this, Vote: DuD

I'm not sure if I'm going mental or if this game genuinely just doesn't make sense anymore.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON I DON'T UNDERSTAND
-
Yes! That is exactly it. Things only leave your deck when certain cards make it so, but what is bought/played goes into discard after a turn. So if on turn one, you buy one card, your discard is then 6 cards tall(hand of five+bought card). Then you draw the five left in the draw, buy another card, discard everything and now have a deck of twelve. Shuffle, rinse, repeat etcetc. Nothing is 'spent' as such, it all stays in deck.

I think some serious mafia bullshit is going down. Two drunks? Not buying it.

Right, I know we had a boardgame thread a few months back, but I've got such a boner for this game I've been wanting to make its own thread and I've finally decided to do so. Anybody else out there heard of it/played it/totally almost wanting to bang it if they could? I literally spent about 10 hours on saturday constantly playing this with my friends. It's generally for 2-4 players and the box says a game takes half an hour, though this isn't until you're all quite familiar/playing intensely. I find games last closer to average of an hour now, and me and Marcamillian have probably played in excess of 50, at least. For those unfamiliar, I shall give you a quick explanation(though really the best way to understand the game is by playing). It's a deck building game, in which the aim is to get victory points. I'll yoink this from tinternets to help explain it;

I'm fairly temped to follow suit with it too, we're not going anywhere and don't need a lynch; Vote:No lynch

I find this post distasteful. I find the ShopTo promotion slightly awesome.

Judging from that, this may be quite a painful day to get through.

Well, that's somewhat the beauty of the game...you can totally choose which levels you play more of/get more stars on! You only need average of what...5 per level to get 75? Throw in a couple secret stars, favourite levels being 7 starred and bam, you're in the business! I wish to god I knew where my blasted SM64 cart was now! However, good point of discussion raised there by the Nando(and @Ronnie earlier); What are people's favourite/least favourite levels? I think mine, in order, are; Bob-omb Battlefield - being the first and foremost, really stuck in the memory. Cool, Cool Mountain - the second one I visited, I think. Loved the characterisation of the penguin and the snowman etc, like it was a world beyond just you/enemies(suprisingly lacking in these, now I think of it). First slide of course, too! Wet-Dry World - Loved this. Don't know why. The vastness? The water mechanic? The whole secret city?! Just...brilliant. Tiny-Huge Island - Brilliant idea, and excellent throwback to SMB3. Full of content, and a few interactions between big world and small, . 5 tiny secrets was a great idea for a star! Took me quite a while to get though. Big Boo's Haunt - Loved entering through that boo/go round thingy. Loved the variety(downstairs merry go round, and the fact you fell into it from the mansion), the slight spookyness, and the fact that it was an absolute goldmine for coins!! Lethal Lava Land - Lava surfing. Absolute bomb. Jumping all over the place avoiding lava like a g? Yes please. Shifting Sand Land - Enjoyed the inside/outside aspects, again had a sneaky shortcut or two if you knew how/where to go(hated crossing that dumb mazey bit with the rolling blocks!) Hazy Maze Cave - Underground theme was excellente, and it gave us the even more awesome metal mario cap/theme! Lots of variety here, and a few sneaky shortcuts to places. Whomp's Fortress - Kinda simple/standard Mario fortress fare. Felt like roots to me. Tall Tall Mountain - Quite a mission to scale! Tedious, but later grew on me, came to like the bastard little monkey. Not so bad once you figure out nice shortcuts, and had another slide. Tick Tock Clock - Again, fantastic interaction idea, entering at the certain time controlled the insides?! Not my favourite level due to it being quite hard/challenging, but possibly one of the best executed ideas.(fast, slow, stopped and reverse! loved it). Snowman's Land - Nice return to the snow. Nice seeing the Ice bullies to contrast the lava ones. Not one of my favourites, and quite a challenge. Felt a bit unique, too. Rainbow Ride - Just a bit end game, and the ride made it long out sometimes. Good level, but tired and overlooked due to being at the end. Jolly Roger Bay - For a reason I don't know, I was never THAT fond of this. The music? The dull colour scheme? The water/swimming? The water theme really took a while to grow on me. Dire, Dire Docks - Again, not too much a fan of the water theme/levels, just a bit dull. Obviously awesome for the bowser ship thing, otherwise...unremarkable for me, and I was crap at the red coins! Interesting idea though. Very difficult to order, actually. But everything's roughly in the right place...I think. Left out secret levels, might stick them in later. Special mention goes to Peach's slide!

You're a fucking fruit ReZ.

This guy's done a few dubs of classic clips/cat vids; first a general vid and then my favourite of them all(french but subbed, kinda makes it funnier);

I personally don't see what I did so wrong yesterday, and do feel like some people are in cahoots. The problem is, the more I try to defend/explain myself, the more things get blown up and I'm somehow bad. I'm very torn on Cube, I don't think he's being honest, it seems a bit too flippant, but I feel his actions yesterday(pre-trying to murder me :p) wouldn't be that of a mafia, unless he had inside information but I thought it all added up. I'm definitely starting to think he could have his own agenda, though.
