Making it multi-platform in the long run is undoubtedly a good decision; delaying the Wii U release isn't for obvious reasons. The two shouldn't be conflated as meaning the same thing, unless of course the game is in development hell and a way from being finished. I have to say, even I'm feeling very pessimistic about the Wii U's chances now. This game was the single biggest 3rd paty exclusive post-launch and from the demo (that they needlessly taunted us with weeks ago) a quality piece of work.

Not quite on that level. Arkham City goes for a more melancholic noir-ish vibe, I thought. There are a couple of very surreal bits though, and one section (that I didn't happen upon until after completing the main story) that REALLY creeped me out!

Ah, frustrating. Pretty sure playing this would banish my sorrows quicker than drink!

Apparently they're on the cusp of being able to take the chromosomes from two sperm cells and fuse them in an inert egg, in either XY or XX combinations. So it may be possible soon. Surely in the Fire Emblem world magic could affect a similar outcome!

That's about 1.4GB - just short of Style Boutique! Looking forward to initial impressions guys

Wow fully orchestrated? That'll mean a 4GB card at least I'd imagine. But then this: makes it sounds like it'll be very good quality samples, with probably fully recorded orchestra for the Overture, ending and set-pieces. Maybe? Sounds smashing!

I hope Mudds Deluxe slipping means they're adding more new content. I'm still stuck on the penultimate (pre-Granny) level on the 3DS though!

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed 3DS

It's funny, but seeing the diddy 3DS (and Vita) versions on youtube made me realise just how much I love this game -

Direct feed footage: Framerate looks ok, but there's an odd chugging effect, especially noticeable on the Space Harrier track. Hope that isn't impacted further by switching 3D on (I'm one of the few who plays with it on full almost always!). Might pick this up if it gets down to £15. -
Shin'en have dropped some details about I loved the original much more than I expected to, so can't wait for this. It'll be perfect on the 3DS!

So Emily Rogers has seen fit to deny the rumour of Diddy Kong Racing from Monster games: She's right most of the time, so it's probably best not to give this one too much thought. Still curious to see what Monster are brewing up!

I think the last we heard it was "on hold". Make of that what you will. With any luck it'll be brought back to light in the N-Direct on 3rd party software...

So the same old snotty, superior attitudes are taking over a thread which is supposed to be (more objectively) about sales... Carry on. -

So the regular edition actually looks pretty slick! Not so bothered about missing out on the LE now http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/01/book_review_the_legend_of_zelda_hyrule_historia Can't wait to get my hands on it! -

Glad they have acknowledged the UK as a problem spot! -
Doesn't sound like Mark Hamill's Joker. Voice work in Arkham City is pretty good across the board - only the Mockney Penguin got on my nerves! Afraid I agree that this looks pretty dreadful!

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion

What I like about that US ad is the design of the coloured rooms making up the "U". At the very least it's a visual concept (compared with the terribly slapdash UK ones). Also the cynic in me says that consumers these dayslike to feel commodified - being in your designer blank room/box is the ultimate in post-modern "comfort". What is awful is the music, the editing and the slogan. -
General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Lens of Truth replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Interesting, thanks @Wii! This is where I get completely out of my depth - economics isn't my strong suit - but certainly worth noting all the same. Why 'lifetime' Wii U sales are relevant as a comparative distinction at this point though is anyone's guess. The thing I find rather frustrating about this discussion is that it seems to always be pulling in one direction, when the figures are resolutely in the middle. 3 mill vs 3.5 mill is by no means the disaster so many want it to be (mitigations or no!). There's also no doubt it's not peachy and Nintendo have a lot to do to make the console the roaring success they hoped it would be. -
I haven't managed it myself yet because I haven't had a chance to play the exclusive multiplayer games enough, but I remember RedShell saying it was pretty sweet. Think the words were "Nintendo Magic" Edit -Also Octopus Dance is a nightmare for someone with terrible co-ordination who can barely tell left from right at the best of times! Will I ever do it?!

Except he isn't doing that, is he? Serebii has mentioned and acknowledged mitigating factors for other consoles several times over the course of this thread. In fact, one of his most frequent arguments has been that ALL console launches are share similar sales patterns, drop-offs etc. I really think people have gotten into a knee-jerk response with his posts. There's some very twisted and selective logic going on here and lots of pot calling kettle! He's added a lot of valuable counter-balance to some of the overly alarmist statements that get thrown around unchecked - whether they're 'defending' or not is really irrelevant if we want to have a sensible debate and consideration of all factors. -
Yes to starring each attraction.. not sure about the platinums as I'm miles off!

What's wrong with an OPTION?? So if you're the type of person who gets all misty-eyed about transistor radios, rationing, Spam and internet dial-up tones you can have your 50Hz gimp-o-vision, but if you want the real ORIGINAL then that's there too. The only way NoE will get up to speed on this is if we let them know we won't be buying/'upgrading'. The thing that boggles the mind is that there must be no-one (significant) among their ranks who actually cares about quality.
