Id say as a British Football fan I think its a shame it cant be a Liverpool Vs Man U fan but as a Liverpool fan im happy Man U lost.

I would never want Owen back, personally I think he peaked in about his 2nd/3rd season at Liverpool. We definately do need a high scoring striker though, possibly some new wingers aswell. Pennant did brilliant last night but he does tend to be a bit inconsistant. When Garcia is back and if Kewell actually gets his form back we might be set for the left.

I still feel sorry for Houllier, the guy really did love Liverpool and nearly died managing us. Plus we managed to get 5 trophies in 6 months with him, got to respect that.

I usually blame that on Benitez just understanding European teams a lot better and the tactics to use against them. Also how to win over 2 matches but since weve been Chelsea twice now in Champions League semis you do have to wonder.

Our problem in the premiership is definately the beginning. We need to sort out our form then, not near enough December. If we had started the season well then we would be up challenging for the title. I assume it was a mixture of new players getting used to the team and players being tired still from the World Cup (Although obviously other teams would have the same problem and they may not have suffered). Alonso was one that didnt get his form back until Nov/Dec.

I think I may just wait until I get a PS3 to get this game, im still not really sold on the Wii controls.

Im still a bit worried about the second leg. I do think we can beat them at Anfield but unfortunately we dont seem to be a particularly high scoring team these days and against a team like Chelsea it'll be hard.

I'll give some credit to Reina tonight though, he made 2 very good saves.

Such a shame that Finnan was injured, I think it was one of the main contributors to the scoreline tonight. If Finnan was there Arbeloa would have been on the left, Riise would have been in midfield and we wouldnt have had to play Zenden, who had a bad game. Of course we shouldnt have played Bellamy either, he just did nothing in that match. Personally I would have let Pennant start and then have Crouch upfront with Gerrard just behind him.
