Yep, glad you mentioned those because I noticed those too, thought I might have accidentally changed something in my audio settings, but apparently not! Also had it happen a couple of times with the podcasts too. And in my second playthrough, found a couple of occasions where I might have beaten the enemies too quickly? Because their dialogue would continue into and throughout the following cutscene, which was kind of funny very distracting in the final fight especially!

New Game+ complete, which means first PS5 Platinum get! Incidentally, it's my 10th! Agreed with @drahkon that these cards aren't great for screenshots looks much cleaner in the trophy menu but it lacks any details! So have both Had a blast, Performance Mode was a lot of fun, and smooth as heck. So much fun smoothly zipping through these fights with a lot more ease this time around. Had a lot of fun just randomly turning on Photo Mode in my second playthrough too, as it changes over to Fidelity Mode, so I could see where the visual differences were with things like ray tracing and lighting. One heck of a game, Insomniac's Spider-Man offerings are quickly becoming some of my favourite. Now time for lunch, and then to check out Astro's Playroom!

So you're playing them straight from the hard drive? I think that's also known to have been causing some issues. From PushSquare: And there are quite a few other accounts of people having similar issues when using an external HDD, either through playing the game directly from there, or after transferring games across. Just thought I'd mention it just in case, either way, hopefully we see some fixes for this rolled out sooner or later Starting to think my issue with the system powering down was more related to playing Miles than anything else. Just finished NG+ with zero issues in Performance Mode and the issue wasn't as long as some others I've seen, and the software had issues a good 30+ seconds before the hardware went down. Guess we'll have to wait and see

@Happenstance, I think one of the smaller issues being reported from launch in the US and elsewhere a week and a half ago were to do with an external hard drive being used to transfer PS4 games to the PS5, so if you haven't had any issues up until after using the external hard drive, that could be it? Though, I did have an issue with the console on Thursday when it powered itself down without using one, but it was fine shortly after (took less than a minute to have it all back to normal). I've been playing Miles Morales in Performance Mode for NG+ and I've not encountered any issues in this playthrough so far, whereas the power down and three cases of needing to close the app due to the game freezing all occured in Fidelity Mode in my first playthrough. Might be something worth considering too? The major issue if I'm remembering right was to do with using Rest Mode, so I've been using it sparingly and otherwise powering down the console after use for now.

Glad to hear you've come around to it! Agree that the acting can be a bit wooden at times with this show (though I do still think it's finding its feet a bit, it took The Clone Wars and Rebels a few seasons to really dial it in, at least for me), but I tend to look past that where I can when it comes to Star Wars, because while there are some wonderfully acted moments in Star Wars, there are at least just as many awful ones! As long as it's serviceable for me when it comes to Star Wars, I'll gladly take it, so long as the story is interesting and well told, the characters are well written, special effects are up to snuff for what we expect from Star Wars, etc. Something I really need to get off my chest, though... With that out of the way though, we're only half way through with four episodes left, and - if I'm not mistaken - all of the footage from trailers and TV spots has already been used, meaning that we're pretty much completely in the dark from here until the end. Sure, some names slipped out before the season started about who would be turning up (well before the season started, actually), but otherwise, it still amazes me just how good a job they've done of keeping a lid on things. Something Abrams should be envious of, that's for sure.

Yeah that's fair, probably just down to my personal preference for me, the overwhelming majority of the suits unlocked in the first game just didn't look right, or were simply a recolouring of the main suit worn in the game. Don't get me wrong, it's cool that a lot of them are from the comics, but I don't think the majority translated that well, at least in how they were presented in that game. While I think it got much stronger post-launch, I still think if I were to go through that game's catalogue of suits and this game's, I'd gladly play in a higher percentage of suits from Miles than I would from Spider-Man. Then again, I am quite picky with the suits that I would wear while playing anyways

Finished my first playthrough of the story earlier today, what a blast this game was! Just finished wrapping up that first playthrough to 100% completion, seeing as Insomniac really knows how to hook me into those. Doesn't do too much to deviate from what we got last time in Spider-Man, but it doesn't really matter; the combat, swinging across the city, soundtrack, the next-gen stuff like lighting, the ray tracing, and loading times, oh and how the city itself looks, how fun and snappy Venom attacks are, it's all just great. Awesome cinematic set pieces and a great montage sequence. It also takes some of the weaker aspects of Spider-Man and refines them further (or reduces their role; not much stealthing around to be found here), and the game is all the better for it. The story, character progression, and cast, are all surprisingly strong too, and it has me hoping we see a lot of these faces pop back up in Spider-Man 2 in a few years' time. Heck, at the start the game felt slightly off, because there are so many moves from Spider-Man I couldn't use here, as Miles was yet to learn them (thankfully he did over the course of the story). The animations for his swinging go such a long way to fleshing him out as a character, too, and seeing him spin around when jumping off a roof is always fun to see, as is him crashing into the floor if you're too late when trying to swing out of some tricks. I also think the variety and selection of suit designs here are much, much better than what we got in Spider-Man two years ago. Haptic feedback wasn't as noticeable as I imagine it is in Astro's Playroom, but it still added a lot to the table, but the adaptive triggers stole the show for me here, with how it adjusts to the tension of your webs. First playthrough was in Fidelity Mode, and as I hinted at above, this game is pretty stunning visually. Got me playing around with the Photo Mode a lot, which rarely happens, and uh...my storage space is more than 3 GB worse off for it Some of my favourites: Visually stunning, a whole lot of fun to play, and for me, in a way, surprisingly emotionally resonant by the end, Miles Morales was a great time. An awesome way to kick off this gen. Now to try out Performance Mode in New Game+!

I haven't played Royal, but speaking as someone who really enjoyed playing Persona 5 for the first time last year, Royal definitely seems to be the way to go now if you are going to want more Persona. Other than the extra term (and more awesome music), the QoL improvements and other additions I've heard from podcast and video impressions makes me think that, if given the option to play the original version of the game or Royal right now, I would absolutely choose Royal. This video should hopefully shed some light on the differences, I watched it not long after Royal released it, and definitely makes it seems like this is the definitive version to get: I don't think you can go wrong with the base game, especially as it's part of the PS+ Collection, but, if you're likely to want more, it seems Royal is the way to go

Yep, that's the one

Just finished Chapter 12, really enjoyed it! Roll on Chapter 13!

That disgusting realisation looking through those that I probably put well over 500 hours in across FIFA games last gen is killing me. And nearly 200 hours into the emptiest Star Wars Battlefront game. EA owns my soul. On the upside, seeing Dragon Quest XI as my most played game outside of those was a bit of a relief

Not exactly Yakuza 7 related (sorry!), but seems relevant enough to include it here than make a dedicated thread: 15th Anniversary Stream for the series on December 8th at 20:00 JST (11:00 GMT). Exciting stuff! Wonder what they'll end up announcing: Yakuza 3 - 6 ports for PC? A Judgment sequel? And the time seems right for a Yakuza 8 announcement, right? Or maybe it'll something completely unexpected? Roll on the 8th!

Nice! Yeah, noticed that too about the trophy cards when my first trophy popped and I wanted to look it up, does look a bit odd, guess the cards are designed with the app in mind too (which makes sense). Really looking forward to giving this a go over the weekend, looks and sounds like such a good time!

Completely missed this gameplay trailer: Three weeks tomorrow! (unless it gets delayed again, but there's no way... right?) Oh, and Episode 5 of Night City Wire too:

Just had my first crash a couple of hours into Miles Morales: game froze while stealthing but would still let me turn the camera, sound cut out, game fully froze, and then light on the console went out and disconnected. Welp. Turned it back on, seems to be fine (nice to be able to hop back in super quickly, that's for sure!), but I felt around the console and it definitely felt warmer than it should be (not hot, by any means) in some places. Just a heads-up to you guys, would not be surprised if we saw another firmware update the other side of the weekend though. That was scary. EDIT: took Miles out not too long after so I can eat, and figured I might as well install Demon's Souls. That disc was pretty hot, wonder if it was something to do with the disc drive getting too warm? Hmm.

1000% where I'm at, and have been for the last few days they just randomly pop up every hour and then I burn right through them again! Despite all of the videos, got to say, I still ended up being surprised at the size of this thing. Monolith. Not that I don't love it, stands tall over its smaller brethren

Let the gaming begin!

Heck yeah, enjoy guys! I'll be joining you soon (maybe)

Local tracking is up, so not last in transit at least! Not dismissing that something could still go wrong though... guy's around the Ring Road right around the corner three times, but I'm another 20+ stops away, which is fine, as I'm working anyways! Projected to be delivered by 16:30, so I'm not expecting it until like 18:00 The terrible part is that I still haven't received an email from Yodel for tracking, so the decision to contact their chat to get it last night looks like it was a good one Enjoy those who have had it arrive, and hope delivery goes smoothly for those still waiting! Also... Absolutely insane. Got to imagine most of those are bots...right?
-
So, today's the day! Tracking info from Yodel last night has the console at my local depot a 20 minute drive away, so delivery today looks to be on - no sign of my window yet, though. Weirdly still haven't received the email from them for said tracking info, so I'm really glad that I contacted them to get this yesterday...but even then I couldn't manage much sleep last night and woke up a couple of hours ago, and wasn't able to get back to sleep! Feel like a kid on Christmas hope everything goes smoothly with everyone's deliveries, and for those looking to put an order in today! May your download times be short, your playing sessions long, and your first next gen experiences awesome
-
Haven't even managed to pass on the first code from GAME yet...and I already have another. Is this to make up for the delivery blunders or something?! Anyway, same as before, they're physical next-gen/current gen games with planned release of next gen upgrades, this time down to £40 from RRP. Let me know if any of you are interested. Still have no idea how long this lasts Games in this promotion are: - Cyberpunk 2077 (PS4/Xbox) - Watch Dogs Legion (PS4/PS5/Xbox) - Watch Dogs Legion: Resistance Edition (PS4/PS5/Xbox) I don't understand the logic behind a promotion where the standard and Resistance editions cost the same either, but here we are!
-
I'm not doing that with mine...yet. You know, just in case the next couple of days don't go, uhhhhhh, "ideally" once it's arrived though, looking forward to clearing it out at some point over the weekend and then setting it up to hand it off to my brother next week with the games he wants to borrow first installed End of an era, though! Just realised it's been almost 5 years to the day since I got my PS4 back in 2015, bundled with Battlefront. How time flies! The true next gen experience!
-
Yeah, so long as it doesn't come too late on Friday which I have booked off, it'll be fine. I actually reached out to Yodel's webchat just before they closed about half an hour ago and got my tracking number before they'd send the email (which I still haven't received), and my tracking is still saying that it should be arriving tomorrow, requires a signature, and that I should get a 2 hour delivery window at some point. So, fingers crossed! ...but yeah. Not going to be using GAME again after this, that's for sure! Yeah, yikes. How is it that two completely panned delivery couriers are not only doing well, but flourishing? Crazy. Sounds like a great plan! Yeah, I was thinking of getting a an external hard drive for transfer of my PS4 games, but after everything that happened last week, think I'll be leaving it for now! For me, I have a cheat sheet ready for whenever it turns up: WiFi password, games to install, order of priority to install them in, etc. Going to start with the larger digital games after I have Miles Morales and Demon's Souls installed I think, and some of the apps which might not already be on there too, like Funimation and Crunchyroll. Also have made sure today that my spare DualSense and headphones are fully charged, and I've got those, my pile of games to install, and my trusty package-opening Swiss Army Knife all on my living room table ready to go. Ideally the console would arrive during my shift tomorrow and I could spend my lunch setting it up and getting installs going, but I'll just be grateful if it arrives tomorrow at this point!

Physical by the looks of it
