Nice. I didn't know they had been added.

    I may order them myself.

They arrived this morning, very pleased that they have the heavy duty backs to stop them falling out.

    Similar to these:

  2. There is a New Zealand version on iPlayer now, seems to have a couple of NZ celebrities, but nowhere near bogged down by the amount of "reality TV stars" that the American version has, so there's no whiny drama. A little twisty.

Tooie is not bloated, but it is a demanding and complicated game compared to its predecessor.

I'd say it's inherently less replayable, because it's a much bigger and more complex game than Banjo Kazooie that demands much more intense exploration and mental mapping of each environment (with worlds that even interconnect!).  But that complexity is also inherently rewarding.  You have to put more into Tooie, but you get that much more out of it.

It is demanding and complicated, because of how bigger and bloated it is. Making you jump through more more hoops for the same results does you mean you have to put more into it, but you're not going to get much return.

I've not long passed the Witchyworld dodgems instance mentioned in this video and I get it completely, all that back and forth for that, I would say I felt more relief it was over than inherently rewarded.

I see Pokemon TCG Pocket has launched today on mobile devices. Sadly, it isn't compatible with my phone and so I can't partake, although I did download it on the works phone to have a play around with. We are going to use that one as swaps for a lad at work who is playing it. :D

Looks like you can open a couple of free packs every day, which isn't too bad. However, like with all games set up this way, there appears to be a lot of stuff locked behind premium passes and various currencies.

It's also kinda meh, the game system is a watered down version of the actual TCG, and the only way to get a decent deck is to pull an EX card/Gym Leader, which unlocks a rental version of their deck* to use against the CPU opponents who later on rock 2-3 EX Pokémon per deck (and you're lucky to have even one).

I've made my way through the missions with mainly the Brock deck and used only decks of own creation using only booster back pulls about 2-3 times.

*which you can use 10 times, Brock has disappeared on my list to use because I used it too much.

I'm gonna hazard a guess here. Was it Mr. Patch?

If it is, my advice would be to go to Spiral Mountain, and have a fly around there, you might be able to find a couple of things that will help you out. And while you're there, there's a rock outside Banjo's house, that you should definitely look into. It's worth it

Si. And the balloon game in the bouncy castle.

I'll check out da rock though, I think I've flown around Spiral Mountain already, but might as well since I'm there

  6. I can see the criticisms of the worlds being too big coming out of world 3. It feels weird after all the fapping around I've done and how long it's taken (just opened up world 4) I've only got about 16 jiggies. I feel I should have more for the investment. I'll take it to the end because I am enjoying it, but it isn't going to be 100% completion.

I've skipped a couple at the moment because messing with flying and shooting just wasn't working out for me.

It's weird Yooka Laylee ended up being what it was when this kind of opinion was given to them years prior.

    OK, this is cool.

Until I noticed that it's pupil is somehow half off of it's eyes, and now it's all I see!

Anyway, speaking of nothing to do with Feraligatr or Trading Card Game, I've been spitballing the idea of doing another nerdy Pokémon thread looking at all the Pokémon that are truly terrible, like, we're talking the ones that have absolutely no viability in any capacity! For an idea of how much these Pokémon suck, even Kecleon has a fringe-case use in specific low tier Smogon cases.

I did something semi-similar along those lines when taking Pokédex text literally from cards many years back

I must say, I found the dream dojo to be good fun. I read up on some tips for the boss battles and they add a bit more depth to the battles. Try it out. :)

I've done some of them, but the ones where they strip you of all echoes so you have to throw rocks to defeat your first enemy or whatnot weren't for me. Maybe I wasn't thinking outside of the box enough. I was only doing it to try and get that sword for Dampè, but I haven't even tried using the automatons he has given me already (all 2 of them)

Had a feeling I'd have to type this again before long.

You can use Bind to pull Null's spindly arm thingies to give Link an opening.

No need, I saw it the first time, after I'd done it obviously. Both one-note approaches either way.

All in all, not a bad game, I think I will check a guide and get the last echoes, but dream dojo, horse racing, stamps, pieces of heart... Nah, I'll flog it.

You guys remember Christopher Dring of games industry.biz, the guy who had us sweating bullets over Astro Bot's sales over here in the UK and Europe?

    No.

And now it won't delete Twitter quotes from my phone when it's part of a quote, so enjoy the below...

  11. This seems to be designed for the person who sleeps alone all the time. If I had this the movement the wife does when waking up would drive me crazy. I can't see how this is considered a good business decision in 2024 when there are so many options to use as an alarm that has more than 5 varieties of sound.

  12. I've been having fun crushing enemies with the Platboom, especially in water. But it still feels like combat was done as an afterthought. More effort has gone into this smoothie bollocks, with most chests containing a couple of ingredients, or money to buy more ingredients. Then they just went "oooh she woman she weak" and decided this was sufficient.

It's sucking the need to explore or just travel because I know instead of being able to handle myself, I'm going to be fannying about in menus. So quick warps all the way.
