  1. 9 point swing from Conservative to Labour. That's horrendous! (But oh so yummy!) Even the Daily Star is mocking them! I like how the mask doesn't have eye holes.
  2. Your 2020 Gaming Diary

I doubt you could get nine before seeing the credits. I wouldn't worry too much about getting it before the credits. There's a more effective Sword anyway. (Uber Falcon Blade)
  3. Same reason Pokémon trading works so well. If there wasn't the chance of finding something you really want, there's be a lot less people visiting other islands.
  4. My word, Hancock did not like that question from Peston during the daily briefing. Cut him off so fast, you'd swear he was a samurai!
  5. I said I would, and now I have. Thanks to @S.C.G and @RedShell for getting it up and doing the graphic work, respectively. How to get into Competitive Pokémon I tried to make this as simple as possible for people who haven't trained a competitive Pokémon team before to understand. But of course, some people will have further questions, so I want to make a thread dedicated to this side of Pokémon. This will be a place for anyone to ask other members about anything that comes to mind, whether that be what stats a certain Pokémon might want to focus on or what moves people recommend. Or if you want to take your competitive team out for a test spin against an N-E player, feel free to ask. I'd be happy to give feedback. Anyway, while I'm at it, the first Online Competition for Sword and Shield is starting this week. Registration for that ends Midnight, this Thursday with the competition taking place over this weekend, all participants get 50 BP. A bit short notice at this point, but I've got my team ready for that. I also plan on doing more articles in the future about other aspects of competitive battling, such as weather teams and notable items. But that's not for now.
  6. Actually, it is. If you use a shovel to dig up a flower, you can replant it anywhere, I imagine you can replant it on a different island.
  7. You and me both, I see all these pictures and I keep thinking, "All that space, wasted..." Oh wow, you have a purple rose, your island is so much more interesting for having it. Said no-one ever. I just plant a couple of flowers whenever one of those Nook Mile+ achievements comes along with a multiplier. Now there's a blue pansy growing and I didn't even try. You know how many watering cans I've gone through since my first day? 1. And it was a flimsy one at that. Flowers are boring. I'll stick with my T-Rex Fossil sitting right next to that Godzilla rip-off statue on top of a mountain!
  8. Neat, hopefully I get one soon. Also, I'm telling the police about you escaping to your second island while this pandemic is going on. That said, he's been strangely absent since the great island migration...
  9. Your 2020 Gaming Diary

Been playing Paper Mario: Color Splash as well as being sucked back into playing Final Fantasy VI. That game is still the pinnacle of Final Fantasies. That Opera sequence is just way too good!
  10. OK, this has been bugging me for ages. What with a second wolf moving in to my town today, (Kyle, in case you're wondering) I have to ask... Has anyone even seen a Crocodilian Villager in this game?
  11. That's unfortunate. I've been dipping into Hyrule Warriors again and the wizardry that goes into the improvements there (Much less pop in, better lighting and higher frame rate while docked) doesn't make Xenoblade look good by comparison.
  12. It's about bloody time! So much for focusing on Worlds, eh? Might have to get the old hunting team back and batter another thousand Astalos, eh @S.C.G? Trailer confirms that you can transfer your save data from the 3DS version! EDIT: European date confirmed to be the same as America.
  13. Congratulations, you've ruined Mario Maker!
  14. Honestly, I'm still on the fence as to buying it. It all depends on whether there's a tough as nails Battle facility to smash my head against. The Battle Tower in this game is proper weak sauce. Doesn't even ban using legendaries and it's so easy to cheese it with Choice items and Dynamax combos.
  15. I'm particularly fond of requesting K.K. Steppe. Not only is it my favourite, but the villagers listening start bopping really fast in the last few seconds and it always makes me giggle.
  16. This is why I only use Repeat Balls.
  17. Anyone watching the daily briefing? The media are going to town with the Cummings questions. (As they should) Of course, normal Tory policy of saying he did nothing wrong and there certainly isn't a case of "the rules don't apply to us". Official government policy seems to be "If you followed lockdown procedure, you clearly hate your family" Sorry @Dcubed. Tories say that Glen hates you. If he doesn't resign by Wednesday, I'm eagerly looking forward to PMQ's.
  18. It's the Mario Kart League 2020! What is the Mario Kart League? Simply put, it's a weekly meet-up of N-Europe members to play some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and then shout at each other afterwards. I suppose we could also find out who the best racer is as well. The League is split up into two halves throughout the year. How do I sign up? Post a comment declaring yourself IN! for each week that you'll be able to play. League Nights generally take place every Thursday at 8pm (GMT). Please try to enter the room 15 minutes before that time if possible. If you have declared yourself IN! but then can't make a night, please inform me on this thread before the league night starts. People who frequently pull a no-show with no notice may be penalised. There is an "Always IN!" List for people who don't want to bother declaring themselves IN! every week. Please mention me (@Glen-i) in this thread if you want to be in this list. What do I need to know about League Nights? There are generally two types of League Nights. Player's Choice nights allow players to freely choose what vehicle they use and what tracks are played on. Even though you can choose the track on these nights, please try your best to not choose a track that has already been raced on that night. No-one wants to do Rainbow Road 12 times. Theme Nights dictate a specific vehicle setup and track order that must be followed. Each night consists of 3 GP's, making for a total of 12 races. Please allow 45 to 60 minutes of your time to take part. It is advisable that you add mine and @BowserBasher's friend code before taking part. (Glen-i - 3034-9087-7910 BowserBasher - 8313-9234-5620) How are the points calculated? After each GP, the points you earned will be recalculated by me using this formula. (Total points divided by Number of Players multiplied by 12) Your grand total is divided by the number of GP's you've taken part in, giving you an average score that will determine your placing in the league. This means that even if you miss a night, your score will not be affected, but your placing may change depending on changes in other people's scores. In GP's that utilise Battle Mode, the points you earn are determined by your place, not the amount of points you got. If your total attendance is below 50% at the end of a League, your score will be discounted from the final results. What are Team Nights? Once a month starting from Feburary, there will be one night where the players will be split into two teams. On these nights, two players will be designated the Team Leaders. Everyone else should send me a Private Message saying what team they want to be in. Your choice must remain secret. If one team has way more members than the other, I will ask the leaders to choose who gets moved to the other side. Your points are still mainly determined by your placing, so you still want to come in 1st. The team that has the highest total score on each GP will get an extra 10 points. What is the Champion's Bonus? In each GP, beating the 2017 Mario Kart League Champion, RedShell, will earn you 5 points. Beating the 2018 and 2019 Champion, Glen-i, will get you 10 points (Except RedShell, who will get 5 points for pulling that off) Beating both of them will get you 15 points. This bonus doesn't apply on Team Nights. What is the Loser's Gambit? Starting from the second night onwards, the current lowest placed player can take part in the Loser's Gambit. I will ask this player to nominate another player in secret that they think they can beat. If they beat their chosen player in a GP, they will get bonus points. However, the lower the chosen player is in the league the less points they'll be worth. Any other Rules I should know about? Theme Nights must be followed. However, if you don't have the right vehicle part, let me know as soon as possible. I will try to find an alternative part that has the same stats. During Player's Choice nights, please do not choose a track that has already been raced on that night, it's only polite. Do not rage quit, if I start to notice people "disconnecting" regularly, you may be penalised. If you do disconnect, rejoin the room as soon as possible. You will earn one point for that race. But I'd be willing to discount that GP's score if it would result in lowering your average score. But don't take the mick. Be aware that discounting a GP will affect your total attendance. Remember to let me or the host know if you can't make the night as soon as you can. Have fun! And feel free to show off your hilarious (Or skillful) moments with the Switch video capture! Theme Night Suggestions If you have a suggestion for a Theme Night, please send me a PM with the details and I'll try to implement it. Thanks to @RedShell for the new logo!
  19. Your 2020 Gaming Diary

Dragon Quest IX is truly the Four Swords Adventures of Dragon Quest. Kinda average on it's own, amazing in multiplayer, a bit of a hassle to set up. Also weird in that it's the most unique Dragon Quest I've played because of the multiplayer, despite it not doing anything that stands out in anything else. It was my fave entry for quite a while, until DQ XI S: EoaEA: DE.
  20. Paper Mario: The Origami King

Apart from Paper Mario 64, hasn't every entry put in some sort of battle system gimmick?
  21. Normally, a year or two. New Leaf got a little resurgence when the Welcome Amiibo update came out and Ganon and Wolf Link moved in to my town and I spent way too much time playing Puzzle League.
  22. Bravely Default: Flying Fairy

  23. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

If it's just the spirits that were added post launch that's having this problem, it might be an issue with your SD card. Just a random guess, mind.
