I bought this machine I'm on last May and it's been fine. Since then they've changed their logo and cases which look much better than mine now . I'm not sure how good they are now but what I got was a good solid machine for a decent price. Besides my PSU and GFX card being brands I've never heard they used some well known brands such as Lite-on, Western Digital and Asus. (The PSU is very stable still) Also the memory in mine is elixir branded which is suprisingly fast still nowadays they use Corsair branded memory though It must be hard to find a good decent PC retailer which gives good all round service and that don't overcharge..

Home Basic is pretty useless though. Might aswell keep XP as that does more and Vista would eat 512mb of RAM alive I'm pretty sure. 1gb is like the minimum to what XP was with 512mb.
-
That's pretty damn expensive though.. I am guessing major hardware changes includes the motherboard, CPU and hard drive or is it different this time around?
-
1gb without any memory heavy programs should be fine for Vista too but I'm pretty sure 2gb is the sweet spot for Vista especially if you play those memory hogging games that they are nowadays.
-
The OEM is the one that's one machine only obviously otherwise you'll need to buy the pricey retail version. The Upgrade version you have to have another OS installed it install it. Not sure if the OEM this time around allows many hardware upgrades either.
-
Don't forget you need to upgrade your card to make use of DX10 when it comes out.. I on the other hand may need to get 2 gig kit (1gb x2) seeing as my machine runs faster with 2 sticks rather than 4. That plus the new GFX card and Vista means I've got to pay alot to just play the next gen of PC gaming. And it's not guaranteed that it will work flawlessly.

My official cables got shipped from P-A today, but I seriously recommend the Gameplay cables as they look fine to me if you don't import otherwise. All in all I save a cool fiver importing them rather than waiting forever for the officials to come out in Europe -
I got this game with some christmas money and it ain't as bad as the reviews said. It's very enjoyable even though the dialogue and story are poor the action is great. The controls are fine.

Official component cables vs madcatz

I would have got the third party one last week but seeing as it might come out on Friday it's worth waiting for the official. Anymore delays and I don't think anyone could tolerate composite anymore. -

I have the gameplay one they seem fine good quality although I can't compared them to the official ones, apparently the difference isn't huge. Personally I couldn't wait any longer, it was getting ridiculous waiting for the officials. -
I managed to get a Gameplay Wii component cable before it ran out of stock. Hopefully it arrives tommorow so I can finally play Zelda.
-
I've had 0 problems with my strap although it seems like they used some pretty weak material butI went out to buy some Silicone gloves on it just incase.
-
I did 2 orders from Gameplay as I forgot to pick Next day delivery it might not matter but I picked the 0.99p First class one on my first order. My first order is probably already dispatched though.
-
I've ordered both incase they gameplay run out of stock. I can always return it or sell it for a profit.

On the GAME website the date has changed to next week. Just been on the phone to my GAME and they don't know. WTF is going on?
-
It's not supposed to scratch your discs?
-
I don't know how the drive works but Discs are always bound to scratch. A small scratch shouldn't make a huge difference. If it get's really bad I send it off to get the disc skimmed.

There's an article about the difference between the cables on gamespot. It seems to be a massive improvement on Zelda at least. From the images I've seen comparing them Component seems less blurry, more colourful and bright. -
I couldn't sleep at all last night. I was hyped up as it's my first time buying a console at launch plus Zelda is my favourite game series ever. I picked it up this morning with Wii play, Monkey ball and Zelda. Though unfortunately GAME ran out of nunchuks so I had buy one from WHSmiths. I had to carry a bloody heavy bag round town while I searched for any sign of Official Component cables for nothing.
-
Just rung my GAME and it's confirmed that I can pick up on Friday. Apparently the component cable is delayed by a week though.
