flameboy Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Calling all people who have got a Wii, is there a VGA cable out for it yet? if so does it output to widescreen? there isn't, i've got a tft so hoping there is eventually...until then have to use the composite cables... you should really use the sticky thread at the top about video displays anyways....
danielrostron Posted November 23, 2006 Author Posted November 23, 2006 Cheers mate, didnt see the sticky. Bit sucky about no VGA cable, guess i'll just have to save for a HDTV and make do with my cruddy 15" SDTV.
Hellfire Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 I'd love a VGA cable, maybe some 3rd party will make one.
Nintendork Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 /me seems to recall Iwata promising Wii working out of the box with a computer monitor.
danielrostron Posted November 23, 2006 Author Posted November 23, 2006 Doubtful really, someone in the USA would have already reported this.
dabookerman Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 /me seems to recall Iwata promising Wii working out of the box with a computer monitor. You are absolutely right, he seemed to of made a big deal about it aswell.
Nintendork Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Yeah I know.. it's just a minor observation of how Iwata's vision adn the actual product are different. Miyamoto wanted it to be $100, Iwata said there'd VGA out the box and a DVD player.. they showed us all those nice coloured prototypes but none materialised. Meh.

Also said something about us saying "Wow"
Jasper Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Isn't there a monitor cable avaible in Japan? i'm pretty sure it was listed as avaible accesoire. Of course, Europe nor America get this - but I'de love to have it (and nab my aunt's un-used computer screen to play Wii in my room).
flameboy Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 god thats one big cat, has he eaten a Wii whole?!!!!

I seem to remember the Gamecube also had some nice coloured prototypes that never materialized

Nintendork Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 I think the PC VGA is an international standard.. edit. Guess not.
blender Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 the new revised wii will have digital audio out, VGA out and a DVD player. Mark my words. The wii at launch is crippled compared to its potential. Good old nintendo make profit from each console sold... and so they want you to buy two!
Nintendork Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 I read on an unreliable source it's gonna be a HD DVD drive also.. they're gonna force the upped output like Microsoft did.
