Posted December 9, 2006 I think sonic died a long time ago... with the Mega Drive sonic adventure on dreamcast was good for it's time. Posted December 9, 2006 Sonic lives in 2D/2.5D, it's destiny. The Secret of the Rings will rock because it runs for you.. it's super fast and you can do 2 things, turn left/right or turn around. It's a 3D game but on a 2D plain (thus I coined the tern 2.5D), it should keep modern gamers amused and please the gamers who whinge that 2D sonic is better. I'm looking forward to it. Posted December 9, 2006 it was able to compete with mario because it offered something different.and lets face it it was much much easier.Well the first sonic waasn't but after that the challenege went down.People get frustrated with mario sometimes. that and the graphics in sonic games were far better than mario games at that point and sonic had better bosses, arguably better music and better variation in levels(mario hadf never seen a casino level or anything to do with robots) in the case of super mario world vs sonic 2....mario world wins though. The one I'm looking forward to is the Battalion Wars sequel, I loved that game soooo much and I just wanted to play other people, so the thought of a better looking, more complete follow up with online play is something I'm trembling in anticipation for.
