pimpdaddy Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Ive heard that nintendo are promoting the wii by giving some out early to games testers, anybody got any info on the subject?
flameboy Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 why'd you post this in gamecube aswell?!! how'd you mean games testers getting them early? I dunno about games testers (who they paid by- Nintendo have inhouse testers) but all the major websites and magazines now have Wii's in their offices.
blender Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 i think everyone who preoreders the first batch are in effect testers
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 They are called ambassadors, and they are people who get to invite their family and friends to a Wii event only for them.
pimpdaddy Posted November 14, 2006 Author Posted November 14, 2006 Oh thanks, how do u become a ambasador
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I dont know. Maybe its a invite only thing. • Wii Ambassador Program: The yearlong initiative identified ambassadors in markets throughout the country. These ambassadors are of three categories: multigenerational families, hard-core gamers and modern moms. During the initial phase, Nintendo hosted events for each ambassador and 30 of his or her closest friends and relatives. The events offered an opportunity for everyday people from all walks of life to play Wii for the first time and share their experiences with others.
Charlie Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 You don't. To be blunt. The chances of you being chosen are so minute. I think they just picked random people off the street for those videos. Major websites (IGN, Gamespot etc) got given Wii's early to review games for.
Nintendork Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Probably through an agency, easier than going out and doing the work yourself. Apparently it's even possible to find a normal agency that specialises in finding normal people.
wooks63 Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Sorry, nothing to do with this thread, but instead about the OP. pimpdaddy - What are you trying to hide in your sig? Disguising a referal link as something totally different, with the message 'You HAVE to see this' does not go down well in my eyes.
