We shouldn't judge now - their games might be marvellous. It's a new studio! And one that Disney will be paying a lot of money to make. If they get a few good developers some of the games may be quite good. At least their movies and are good - that'll hopefully translate to lovely stories/cut-scene's on the games.

Not to be too technical but it is actually a Buena Vista Games studio. BVG have made the odd really nice game that I know of like Tron 2.0 . Having a totally Wii/DS centric studio is exactly the type of thing that is needed though. Devs really need to understand the controller and the system.

More exclusives, thats good. Disney made some very good games on Nintendo consoles previously. Some such as Mickey Mania, Pinocchio, Toy Story etc on Snes come to mind...

All developed by Traveller's Tales except Pinocchio by Virgin Studios London. But still, not a bad bunch of games at all

So what did Disney just license the games or give permission to use their characters and thats it, didn't have any actual input in game development?

Well, yes. They were too busy making films to bother with games back then.

The Lion King was developed by Westwood Studios (RIP), The Jungle Book and Aladdin (not the SNES version) by Virgin Interactive themselves. In fact, the head of development on Aladdin was David "Earthworm Jim" Perry and many of the Aladdin team went with Lisburn's favourite son to form Shiny Entertainment.
