For the past two days (and maybe longer) my local radio station - Peak FM - has been giving away a Wii console. This is great news since it is heard by many non-gamers around the Derbyshire region.

Incidentally, the way to win the console is by taking part in a lowest unique bid auction. You text them your bid. Yesterday's Wii went for £1.23! And it was won by a woman.

I hate those lowest individual bid auctions, think they're a total scam really the price they usually charge per entry.

Great way to get the word about the Wii around though, good on Nintendo for no doubt supplying them with Wii's for the competition.

Just heard the ad myself on the Pulse in West Yorkshire. They described it as the must have gadget this Christmas, they also said it will be sure thing that Wii will be sold out over Christmas. Very positive actually, Nintendo should do more things like this.

Bids in! Wahooooo! I dont generally win these things but you've got to try occasionally. My bid's up in the £2 bracket because more people will blatantly be bidding now. Anyone else done it?

Just heard this agin, they're talking up the Wii, I think these give aways make Nintendo look very good indeed. If all the Radio stations had these as prizes in the run up to Christmas it would be really great - it's amazing publicity and it's very very cheap, I mean one console gets you an advert every few minutes!
