conzer16 Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 http://home.nestor.minsk.by/computers/news/2006/10/2003.html A team led by scientists at Duke University's Pratt School of Engineering has demonstrated the first working "invisibility cloak". Now that is pretty damn cool! Who hasn't wanted to be invisible at some stage, whether it was out of shame or *ahem* something else!
Charlie Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 It's not invisible to a human eye, but to microwaves. A proper Harry Potter style invisibility cloak is still way in the future.
triforce_keeper Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 wow thats is pretty cool! Imagine though how technology will be like in 20-30 years.

Hence the (almost) in the title But if they can make it invisible to microwaves, one invisible to the visible spectrum isn't that far off
gaggle64 Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 They started this years ago. This is the result of those years of work. Not a bad job.
Emasher Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 i heard a Harry potter style invisibility cloak will probably us fiber optics and will be out before most of us die.
Shino Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 It's indeed old, I have some vids of it. But it's nice to see a thread like this and not the usual Tech Help.
Guest Stefkov Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 I'm sure i remember rading this somewhere a long while ago. It'd be great for these to be reality though.
