Wolf Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 A: I'd much rather have the consumer buy a Wii, some accessories, and a ton of games, vs. buying any of my competitor's products. This is personal for Reggie. He is THE MAN!

Hal_9Million Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Microsoft made the whole Wii60 statement because they need Nintendo alot more than Nintendo needs them. Without Nintendo, MS and Sony probably wouldn't even be in this race. Nintendo have shown they don't need anyone else to make it in this industry. Without innovators like Nintendo, where would Microsoft and Sony steal ideas from?

knightendo Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Groan. Nothing new. Just the same old useless 'information', and reaffirming the stupid online mode Nintendo wishes to adopt. Nintendo's perception of 'not directly competing' with the other two is a joke. They obviously don't see the lack of shelf space at stores for their products. there is nothing here to state that the wifi for Wii is exactly the same as for DS. if it were they woulda given out a lot more details by now. the WFC as it is is perfect for handheld gaming but yes it needs certain changes for Wii.... have faith and don't worry my friend, reggie IS calling the others competitors, the whole "not really competitors" stance was more about making a point about how different ninty's approach is since the success of the DS and now with the upcoming Wii too. and nintendo are all too aware of the lack of space for their products (anyone else get the email questionaire few months back about this very subject?). again, this is being addressed, look at how the DS sections are growing, coming to the front of stores etc. what sells gets more space, and the GCN just didn't sell well here in the UK unfortunately. the DS is the start of the wheel turning and the Will will bring it around completely i feel. (was gonna say "the Wii will bring it round a full 360" but that may have confused things lol)
Ten10 Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Well Microsoft kind of said 360+wii to try and steal some of nintendo's fire. I mean you have to remember what it was like on the last day of what might be the last E3. Everyone just ran straight to the nintendo stand.
