Haver Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 The pilot episode starts in 10 minutes on More4. I am a good and virtuous man and I tell you this in all honesty, it is well worth an hour of your time. More4. 10 minutes.
weeyellowbloke Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Hmmm, maybe I'll watch this. I never really followed the West Wing as I could never follow what was going on, what with everyone running about talking ridiculously fast. Maybe if I saw it from the beginning I'd have a bit more of a clue.
Haver Posted August 6, 2006 Author Posted August 6, 2006 Yeah. I hope you did and now do have a bit more of a clue. It's a great pilot, and a great show.
Ashley Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Well I missed it. The show always interested me on a televisional level, but I'm not really into politics (blah blah tut tut you don't care about politics you can't talk about anything advert), much less fictional American politics.
Haver Posted August 6, 2006 Author Posted August 6, 2006 OK. The great thing about The West Wing is that it's about politics, but isn't really about the politics. It made strawpolls sexy. It made soft money sexy. It was never about the politics. It was about being great, being heroic. It was about American Heroes, and reaching for the stars.
Haver Posted August 7, 2006 Author Posted August 7, 2006 I watched 24 afterward if that's any consolation. I have a hunch about Season 4, plz confirm or deny: At the end of the first episode, was the guy who went around shooting the Secret Service agents with a silenced pistol indeed Richard Heller? He had long shaggy hair and the right posture. Cheers!
Noodleman Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Watched the first 5 epiosdes today and I am already hooked. Not as good as the Sopranos though but it has won me over.
