Haden Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Hey guys I just got a freeview box and as you can tell by the title. I love FilmFour so much. Just wondered if anyone wanted to join Club Film 4 and watch films on the glorious channel that all memebers of this club adore. In the club we can watch films on the holy channel. And discuss them etc. Also if someone wanted to make a film four graphic that would be awesome. I will try and keep this tread updated with film schedules etc but if noone joins then poor old film four will die! Anyway whos up for a film four love in?
rokhed00 Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 It's gone shit now it's free. All those bloody adverts, even Sky Cinema are capitalizing on it with their 'we don't do adverts' adverts.
Shorty Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 You say that rokhed00, but not all of us can afford lots of posh telly I am very glad that it's free, because without the adverts, I would not have it at all. And it's better than nothing!

Sky Movies & Cinema mostly show wall-to-wall shite. I'm willing to put with a couple of ads every hour to watch if it means I get to see a channel that actually shows genuinly good film.
ThePigMarcher Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I used to subscribe back when they had the main channel , along with the Extreme and World Channels and unfortunately it has been a gradual decline since those days. It seems to be obvious that they haven't been able to reverse that trend , although saying that , its still far better than anything Sky Movies seems to offer.

And it's better than nothing! Hail brother you are truly a FilmFour member! Just been watching the end of the godfather, wonderful film.
Hem Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Alright. Did anyone see Dead Man's Shoes on Wednesday night? Awesome film. It's on again on Monday, so make sure you watch it. My lineup for the next few days: Sunday: The Motorcycle Diaries Tuesday: The Green Mile Wednesday: Once Upon A Time In The Midlands Might also watch The Blair Witch Project and/or The Hole.
gaggle64 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Did anyone see Infernal Affairs a few nights ago. I desperately need to get it on DVD, it was brilliant.

Why isn't the Shawshank Redemption on that list??
Monopolyman Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 You know what, since Film Four has been free, I've actually been watching TCM more often. The only thing I've bothered seeing on Film Four is Road to Perdition and a bit of Infernal Affairs. Though, there are a couple of decent films coing to Film four soon actually, such as the Motorcycle Diaries and Mononoke-hime.
Hem Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 WhatWHAT? Why isn't the Shawshank Redemption on that list?? Because I have it on DVD and can watch it anytime.
Haver Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Good idea, Haden! How's Trainspotting (Tonight, Friday, 11PM) for our maiden Official Revolution Europe Club Film Four Film of the Week? Or The Motorcycle Diaries (Sunday, 9PM)? Or The Blair Witch Project (Saturday, 11PM)?
Zygo Ape Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Trainspotting gets my vote. Its a bit late though...
Hem Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 My votes goes for The Motorcycle Diaries without a doubt. I think most would have seen Trainspotting (which is still a good film), but Diaries is more recent and is supposed to be better.
Haver Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Either work for me. The Motorcycle Diaries would give people a little more time to recognise what we're doing and organise themselves.

And it's better than nothing! Meh, Channel 4 are making stack loads of money on other things anyway, like Big Brother evictions and the new Channel 4 on demand. They could have kept adverts out of it if they'd wanted to.
AshMat Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 OO, i wanna be in, ill be watching Italian Job tonight.
Jimmy3000 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 wanted to watch wolf creek last week but forgot about it till after it had already started. Looks like they have a decent set of movies on though which is good as sky just show the same ones all the time =/
