Kazzahdrane Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Ok, stupid question, but do you think it is worth selling my psp in order for the mondey towards getting a wii? I mean i pretty like my psp, but im sure i'll love the wii more. Hmmmm....... But for me it'll be: White wii, Zelda, Mario Galaxy ( if confirmed as launch title) and maybe if im lucky metroid prime 3. Yes, especially since at the moment you'll get a fair whack of the money you need for a Wii for your PSP. Gamestation's trade value for a Value Pack is £90 at the moment, that's at least 50% of the Wii price.
Haden Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Man we are all so lucky. The Wii launch is looking awesome. Definatly getting Wii Sports. Zelda and either Metroid, POP or Far Cry. Btw will any launch games eg wii sports be online at launch? Is there gonne be voice chat? And are people at RE gonna have a classic launch night/morning online meet up and play some Wii games?

I'd keep the psp it's finally getting good dammit with tekken, mgs and killzone. Just get a wii a couple a months later then you won't get a faulty launch one.

And are people at RE gonna have a classic launch night/morning online meet up and play some Wii games? We don't know anything about online yet apart from that it will use at least one friend code. Whether its the same friend code for every game or not, we don't know. Because of WiiConnect24, I'm guessing it will be the same friend code, so it can store data of which games you've played online so it knows which updates to download. Voice chat is decided by who makes the game. Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam (DS) has 4-player online with voice chat during games. And yes, if there's any decent online games, you can be assured loads of us will be online.
immy Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 And yes, if there's any decent online games, you can be assured loads of us will be online. Apart from smash bros I can't think of any big online games, not a good start against resistance's 32 man online play me thinks.
Charlie Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 Apart from smash bros I can't think of any big online games, not a good start against resistance's 32 man online play me thinks. The developers aren't allowed to talk about games being online yet, Ubisoft have said they can't say anything about online. You can be assured that Far Cry will be online if Nintendo have an online service.

McMad Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 My turn bitches. This is all the shizzle I will be getting hopefully at launch. 1 x Wii 2 x Wii-mote + Nunchuck 1 x 1GB SD Card 1 x Internet Peripherals 1 x Retro Downloads Card 1 x Zelda:TP 1 x MP3: Corruption 1 x Red Steel (or Super Mario Galaxy if its out or Super Monkey Ball if Red Steel gets trashed) Oh yeah are all Game/Gamestation shops doing midnight openings? Did they do it for Xbox 360?
Charlie Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 Some of them will be opening, the bigger ones probably. I know Virgin in Glasgow opened at midnight for the DS as did the ones in London....
Jamba Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Some of them will be opening, the bigger ones probably. I know Virgin in Glasgow opened at midnight for the DS as did the ones in London.... It's strange, the Nintendogs release at HMV on oxford st. in london was much more exciting than the DS release. Dammit. So gonna have to ship down to london for the release party... bastards. Might go cosplay for a laugh but if I camp out too early then I think I might get beat up!

I was going to cosplay as Link if I went to Glasgow.... But then I remembered it was Glasgow. You get beat up for looking normal there
Zell Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 I'm still not 100% sure. I mean even after E3 they still haven't shown us any of the nitty gritty details of the wii (such as the entire interace when you turn it on, how the virtual console will actually work, what will become packaged with the wii, or even how the wiimotse will be powered). I await Leipzig with great anticipation.

Jamba Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 They haven't really with the PS3 either. I don't ever remember seeing the Gamecube GUI either until I had it in my hands. But hey consoles don't really have a GUI but with the online functions I guess this will be a bit more like the 360 one?

I've actually set mine to go to the Dashboard before I start a game
