Mr. Bananagrabber Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 I reccommend a system that didn't die over a year ago.
Fierce_LiNk Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I reccommend a system that didn't die over a year ago. Why does that matter? In that case, should none of us buy any SNES or Dreamcast games ever again?
The3rdChildren Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Star Fox sounds up our street, but no one seems to have a good word to say about it, is it really as bad as everyone seems to make out? Starfox is playable, but in no easy way. I'd rate it average at best. Even the flying sections feel a little... off. The ground levels can be quite enjoyable, although they're needlessly drawn-out and difficult in places, with most mission objections repeating several times before you can get back into the air. I also wasn't aware it had a co-op mode. Maybe I'm wrong... Actually I think it is more tedious than a regular battle. Once you get well into the RPG, you find regular battles chores, which are better done quick with little effort. ToS has a nice system but it eventually gets tiring, I just couldn't be arsed to continuously be tapping directions and A & B after the a thousandth battle, there was no fun in it any more. In a regular RPG (turned based stuff) you can simply get through battles by a few button presses (ie selecting "Attack" over & over), which I found less tedious. An RPG isn't really the best game to include a co-op mode, unless it's an MMO. As a Smash Bros. fanatic, I'd have thought you'd enjoy Tales of Symphonia's battles because of their vague similarity to the former with the directional B attacks and whatnot. I guess I got quite into the battles, with the music blaring and whatnot, and quite enjoyed the intensity they could sometimes arouse. You gotta admit, it gets a bit chaotic at some points. ... plus the lack of random battles was something that filled me with joy.
Zygo Ape Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Rebel strike is awesome in co-op mode. You get to choose different ships to fly so in order to complete some objectives, you must rely on your team mate. For example, you have to bomb some stuff, and you're sat there in a nippy little A-Wing, and your mates chugging around in a big Y-WING, get him to bomb while you cover him from the TIES. Its best in the space battles aswell, i think theres a level with the Razor somewhere in the title, one of you has to defend a capital shgip whilst the other one has to go solo on a star destroyer. About as year ago you could pick that up for a tenner, i reckon you could get it for under a fiver now. Its also very competitive as afterwards it shows both players statistics, most kills and deaths among other things, i still play it today even after doing all-nighters over two years ago. Single player isnt so bad either... *Dreams of doing the trench run in cockpit view with the X-wing closed up*
