Razz Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 does anyone know if .ogg files are compatible to be played on the ipod nano? if not how would i go about making it so? thanks~
AshMat Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 I think you can patch the firmware, someone on here did it i think..
Razz Posted May 31, 2006 Author Posted May 31, 2006 cheers retro. anyone care to elaborate? see i wanna put that binaural beats thing onto my ipod.
Mr_Odwin Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 I think retro is talking about arab_freak who installed linux on his nano, but it doesn't sound too noob-friendly an operation. Can you not convert the ogg file to an mp3?

Mr_Odwin Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Try audacity? I think that can do it. If not, try belight or besweet (not as noob-friendly).
AshMat Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Nah not arab, i remember someone saying they'd patched it to play ogg, though it may not be a nano. Id suggest converting them? (though odwin already said this)
arab_freak Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 I'm not familiar with .ogg, but can't you just convert it? And contrary to popular belief, installing Linux IS very user-friendly. I wrote the tutorial myself. There's even a video if you're that stupid. http://ipodlinux.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5281
Guest Jordan Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Your best bet is to get Goldwave (google it). Get the .ogg and .mp3 codec and just convert it to mp3. Its not worth the hassle.
Mr_Odwin Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Try converting them to mp3 ... oh wait ... I said that already.
