gaggle64 Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 While perusing my recently aquired issue of PC Gamer I stumbled a rather facinating tid-bit in "The Spy" section, which pointed out the recent emergence of a alleged Ubisoft '07 release schedule containing - amongst other things - "Several shooter titles for the Nintendo Revolution - including Brothers in Arms 3" Now obviously, this is just rumour, but while unlikely is naturally perfectly plausible and the Revo winning favour with such high-profile PC ports could prove to be an irrisistable carrot, especially for those of us with low-end PCs. It would also be great to see the third-party support come out that may wish to make a quick buck, especially with such ports that would surely be welcomed with open arms. My only worry is if, after years of FPS famine in Nintenland, we're suddenly going to find ourselves swamped by dozens of cheap cash-ins by lazy FPS developers not willing to try something new or original with the FHC.
djamb3 Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Do not forget about strategy games which now have a great chance to work perfectl in a console. But if we see the best fps from pc in rev it will be great. Nowaday there's also a lot of games for pc that really suck. But there will always exist who want new and original things.
system_error Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 BiA3 isn't a rumor, it's confirmed for the rev. Where? I thought Ubisoft want to make that game their graphical flagship title - and that would not fit into the Revolution philosophy.
InvaderElmo Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 1up had this to say about BiA3: "Unfortunately, for Nintendo fans, Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway won't make its way to the Revolution platform..." I really wish people would let this rumor die. Besides, with MP3 and Red Steel we really don't want too many other FPS on the system. Source: 1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3149544&did=1
Kurtle Squad Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Besides, with MP3 and Red Steel we really don't want too many other FPS on the system. So we want two?! One of which is a FPA?!
The fish Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Well...Gearbox did say they were very interested in the Rev, and they loved the controller, and that their next game would be on the rev.
gaggle64 Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 Ya' see normally I would ignore stuff like the BIA3 rumour, but being hinted at from the pages (although I'll admit, a slightly odd source) of a publication such as PC Gamer, sister mag to NGC - who you will recall, actually knew more about Nintendos upcomming Zelda game then Nintendo. Against my best instincts, there is an irresitable wiff of possibility about the whole thing. We'll find out in a few weeks ect.
system_error Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Today Ubisoft announnced BiA will ship for next-gen consoles including Playstation 3 and PC. Take that as you want - I am still not convinced it will come to the Revolution too! Source: http://www.gamesindustry.biz/news.php?aid=16195 and http://www.consolewars.de
gaggle64 Posted April 21, 2006 Author Posted April 21, 2006 Ubisoft did say they would be bringing at least on other FPS as well as an exclusive Revo project (Red Steel.) We know Gearbox, who are FPS-mental, love the FHC. We know the Rev can run the Unreal3 engine, the engine BIA3 uses. I'm sure Ubisoft isn't above making a quick port for what would be an easy buck. There are just too many pieces that could fit. COULD fit. As I said before, plausable, but unlikely. I geuss the other possibility would probably be Farcry...
InvaderElmo Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Although there have been rumors that the Revolution can run the Unreal 3 engine, most have been later updated to say that it is still uncertain and even unlikely. We do not "know" that the Rev can run it, and I trust 1up when they say that BIA3 is NOT coming to the Rev. I won't miss it at all. Yay for WWII era FPS. Oh wait, there are already too many of those.
