pedrocasilva Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 http://www.dsgaming.co.uk/html/modules/news/article.php?storyid=1364 yeah that sucks, but that particular title won't sell and much as NDS nintendogs did, I just find it hideous, because... well... Gran Turismo sells well on PS2 and you don't see Nintendo doing a clone just for the sales, and if they did, i'd hate the idea... anyway... I believe this one is not by a Sony First Party (like that warioware clone with super mario, luigi and yoshi clones), so, like PSP braintraining (made by Sega) it's a attemp to make money, and I can't really blame the authors, I mean... if I was to make a game, i'd feed the starved userbase, rather than making a inferior copy of nintendogs for DS, we know it'll sell like hotcakes on PSP... But Sony shouldn't allow it, because it gives the image of them selling because of a copy of a game for the other console (it's hideous selling PSP for it's graphical advantages, and then, one of the only titles who reached the top in Japan was the brain training copy, it's like they are selling with copies, thus not having titles worth of mentioning, that's a really bad image I think. Sony didn't allow 2D games for PS2 without a previous authorization/green light... Don't tell me they can't prevent this from happening... oh yeah... they're the ones who said they didn't want PSP porn on PSP's, but it's coming out on UMD's...
Hamish Posted February 13, 2006 Author Posted February 13, 2006 Of course Nintendogs wasn't the first Dog Simulator. The first one was in fact for the PS1 and there have been many since including the recent Dogz! for GBA. But this is obviously identical and piggybacking on Nintendo's success. Now you can see why Nintendo are afraid of Sony just stealing their ideas with the Revolution.
Matt Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 I fucking hate people moaning about people stealing ideas. Nintendo do it too. Wario Ware was a blatent copy of Bishi Bashi on the PS2. Stop whinging.
Ashley Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Yup, things are copied all the time. Such as this thread: http://www.revo-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4271
