drahkon Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 Basically only played this during February, albeit "only" for 15 hours Managed to deal with a lot of Act 1 a lot faster than during my first, abandoned playthrough. Just reached Grymforge and if I remember correctly, there will be a very difficult boss fight soon. Got a few more things to take care of outside, though. The Goblin Camp still awaits and I should destroy handle it diplomatically and then destroy it before moving on within Grymforge. My ranger is in good companion with Karlach the Barbarian Thrower, Gale the Sorcerer and Shadowheart the Cleric. As always, the early game is pretty tough on Tactician but once you reach level 4 it gets much easier. At level 5, most normal fights in Act 1 have been a cakewalk. 1
drahkon Posted March 10 Author Posted March 10 Finished Act 1 after 30h, which is 10h less than the first time I finished it (that playthrough does not exist anymore, as mentioned before). Not surprising as I still knew most of what to do, so the exploration part has been cut short Been making my way through the second Act and it's been a lot of fun. The "gimmick" was pretty annoying at first but it became a non-issue very quickly. It's ridiculous how easy the fights have become, though. Playing on Tactician and the early game was pretty difficult (not as much as during my first playthrough, because I didn't know much about the mechanics back then) but since reaching level 4-5 with my group, it's been a cakewalk. Occasionally one of my party members "dies" (reaches 0 HP and gets the condition "downed" - read it up, if you want to know what the hell that's about ) because some enemies get like 3 actions in one turn but it's never been a big deal. Haven't progressed the main quest(s) a lot in Act 2. As usual with BG3, the side-quests take the main stage for a while 1

The second Act has been pretty straightforward compared to the first. Not a complaint, just an observation I was able to skip a lot of fights via conversations. I made some characters die without lifting a finger, which I found was pretty fun Only had one tough fight, so far. Its difficulty mainly came from the amount of enemies and the fact that you have to protect something. It was a little annoying, but thanks to some nice Cleric spells and the beautiful Magic Missiles spell I pulled through! Oh and: it was surprising to hear J.K. fucking Simmons! 1

Phew...seems like a pretty big story beat for Shadowheart is coming Had a lot of fun solving some puzzles this morning. Fights are still very easy, though. Not sure if I'm just super over-powered or if Tactician isn't as difficult as I thought it was 1
drahkon Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 Nearing the end of Act 2, I assume. It's been pretty eventful. Lots of big fights and I guess one more to come 1
drahkon Posted Monday at 11:06 AM Author Posted Monday at 11:06 AM Act 1 - 30 hours Act 2 - 20 hours The final boss of Act 2 was a doozy. The first truly tough fight I've experienced. Managed to come out of it victorious, though. The first area of the final act has lots and lots of content. Took me 10 hours to clear what was available to me (or what I was able to find ). My highlight so far: The circus. Now on to the Lower City. Pretty sure this is the final stretch. I'd be surprised if it didn't take me another 20 hours to finish Anyways, slowly but surely making my way through BG3 and I'm enjoying every second of it. Given the game's scope it's no wonder that I'm not playing anything else in the meantime (expect for MH:Wilds). 1

Spent a few hours there only to be stopped by someone who thinks I made a mistake. I persuaded her and now she believes I did a good thing (jury's still out on that, though ). She then sent me back to a previous area with a new quest. And here I thought I wouldn't have to go back there This game is something special! 1

Holy fuck, that was amazing Act 3 spoilers: Spoiler The battle against the dragon was tough. Did not expect the Monster Hunter mechanic of hiding behind crystals to avoid damage from a huge explosion Well, that's done. Back to Lower City I go! 1
drahkon Posted Thursday at 03:35 PM Author Posted Thursday at 03:35 PM This game... The way so many threads from Act 1 and 2 are coming together is incredible. I've stuck with my 3 companions as soon as I met them and their stories are pretty fleshed out. It's great to experience how everything is playing out and it makes me wonder what will happen at the end. Can't wait to see the finale, but I think it's another 20 hours until then 1
