Essential monthly games for February are Payday 3, High on Life, and Pac-Man World Re-Pac:

Additionally, there is an update on PS4 titles as part of the service – with plans to shift towards PS5 games being the focus of Monthly Games and the Game Catalog come January 2026.

Update on PS4 Games for PlayStation Plus

As many of our players are currently playing on PS5 and have shifted toward redeeming and accessing PS5 titles from the Monthly Games and Game Catalog benefit, PlayStation Plus is also evolving with this trend and will focus on offering PS5 titles through the Monthly Games and Game Catalog benefit starting January 2026. As we shift to PS5, PS4 games will no longer be a key benefit and will only be occasionally offered for PlayStation Plus Monthly Games and Game Catalog starting January 2026. We may still provide titles that can be playable on both PS4 and PS5 consoles after this date.

Please note, this won’t affect the PS4 Monthly Games that you have already redeemed from PlayStation Plus. You’ll continue to have access to games you’ve already redeemed as long as you remain a member.  For Game Catalog, PS4 games will still be available to play until it leaves the catalog as part of our monthly refresh.

We’ll continue to evolve the experience of PlayStation Plus and optimize the benefits you receive, including exclusive discounts, online multiplayer access, online game save storage and more. As we shift our focus to PS5, we look forward to adding new PS5 titles monthly for you to enjoy.

Interesting...

New titles and this month's updates announced to be coming during today's State of Play:

Extra and Premium

  • Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
  • TopSpin 2K25
  • Lost Records: Bloom & Rage - Tape 1 (launches into Plus on Feb 18th)
  • SaGa Frontier Remastered
  • Somerville
  • Tin Hearts
  • Mordhau

Premium / Classics

  • Patapon 3
  • Dropship: United Peace Force

In the future

  • Lost Records: Bloom & Rage - Tape 2 (April catalog update, launching into Plus on April 15th)
  • Blue Prince (launching into the service this Spring)
  • Abiotic Factor (launching into the service this Summer)
  • Armored Core, Armored Core Project Phantasma, and Armored Core Master of Arena ("Coming Soon")

The PS1 Armored Core trilogy is the highlight for me, for sure - I've been eyeing up a copy of the first Armored Core ever since I finished VI, but what was stopping me was knowing that I wouldn't have access to Project Phantasma and Master of Arena, which both never launched in Europe and to which you can carry over save data from the original. I had been thinking about playing them through other means because of this, but it seems like I held out just long enough! Wonder what this means for the rest of the series...as well as if that means we might see another Armored Core announcement this year?

Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Sonic Colors: Ultimate and TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection are the Essentials games for March.

Wild to see Veilguard already hitting the service, end of October release to PS+ Essential in March...got to be one of the fastest turnarounds on a third-party AAA release getting onto the service, surely? Can't tell if that's because PS paid the big bucks or if it's a case of the sales numbers dropping and EA wanting to cash in, or maybe it's a weird counter to Avowed on Xbox? ::shrug:

PS Extra:
UFC 5 | PS5
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown | PS4, PS5
Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions | PS4
Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation Code Fairy | PS4, PS5
Arcade Paradise | PS4, PS5
Bang-On Balls: Chronicles | PS4, PS5
You Suck at Parking | PS4, PS5
Syberia – The World Before | PS4, PS5

PS Premium:
Arcade Paradise VR | PS VR2
Armored Core | PS4, PS5
Armored Core: Project Phantasma | PS4, PS5
Armored Core: Master of Arena | PS4, PS5

Going to give it a beat for someone online to tell me the best button configuration for these Armored Core titles considering they weren't made with dual sticks in mind and are known to be a bit of a nightmare to control!

Guess this is the year I finally get to go all-in on this franchise after falling for VI :D still not sure the order I'll get through them, mind you. Some sick part of me wants to go PS3 games > PS2 games > PS1 games, but we'll see :p

EDIT: totally ignored The Lost Crown being there (because Armored Core!!!). Really solid month!

PlayStation Blog has a dedicated post going over the entire history of the Armored Core franchise...

Might just be to commemorate the PS1 games coming to PS+, but I wonder if they're hinting that the other games will follow suit?

I would have preferred if they spaced out the AC releases.

I think it makes sense in this case, simply because the games apparently haven't aged the best, and so I think there's a bit of an adjustment period which will come with that – and so expecting players - especially modern players who can be playing one of any number of things at any given time - to keep those skills in check for the next game to drop sounds like it would result in a bit of a rough time.

There are also save transfers between the games as you go through the Gen, which I think kind of ties into the idea you should probably play these fairly close together to have a good time with them these days.

From the research I did leading up to the release of and then after completing VI, it sounds like these older games can be a bit gnarly - perhaps even a bit unfair - and do, yeah, releasing them all at once is probably the best idea I think.

Isn't that last Astro Bot mission which sounded like it would have an Armored Core tie-in dropping soon, too? There's something afoot.

I wonder if they get the trophy treatment?

I'd hope so.

Could totally see there being trophies for going into debt (which you could do in these older games, but isn't around I'm VI) and unlocking Human Plus, which if I'm remembering right requires you to go so far into debt to unlock before it gives you better abilities/performance of certain parts/aspects.

Outside of the potential challenge of the controls and facing off against how the games themselves have aged, I seem to remember all three having pretty low completionist times on HLTB, so can't imagine the Platinums would take too long to get here.
