Kurtle Squad Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Okay, so I was interested in Kirby's Air Ride since I heard about it, but once I read NOM's review on it, I was very disappointed. I've read all kinds of reviews, but don't know whether to get it or not. Most reviews I've seen seem to be far too one sided. Eg: This is shit, or what a great, fun game!! So I wouldn't mind a full opinion/review of someone on here that has played it or owns it. I know at least one of the Links do!! :p
Mike Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I got it when it came out, and I think it's quite a good game. It's obviously lacking in some areas (graphics in City Mode; 'on-rails' main mode is a little constraining), but the amount there is to do in it meant that I spent way more time with it than I did with Double Dash. If you can find it cheap, which I expect you can, then I'd definitely recommend it. I think that most reviews criticised it just for being so different to Mario Kart, to be honest.
Mr. Bananagrabber Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 It's worth £15 or so. Fun but not great.
Bo130 Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I absolutely love it. Great challenges on the check lists, fun in Top Ride and Air Ride with great levels, and fun, alternating, stars. I don't really see why people bash it so much. It innovative, because the A (R/L) is brake instead of acc., and that ****s them up, "crap / 10 - can be completed without touching the joystick", ya, of course, but that's on 1/3 of the game modes, and with computers @ level 1. If you like a fun, alternative racing game, buy this, IMO. EDIT: Conclusion, great game with worthy opponents, and is fun to play for records in, IMO
GigaPlay Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 It's a fun game, better then what NOM gave it, trust me. It can be loads of fun when you're flying around the city. We also made a game called the "Crazor" in which you get into the vehicle that speeds, but can't turn when moving, and hunt down Kirby when he has no vehicle, it is that Kirby's job to find a vehicle and defeat the crazor. Brilliant fun, especially when you say "Crazor" in an evil sick way. Overall great game , lacks in modes really, and it's a little simple. It wasn't worth the €70 Smyths wanted for it when it first came out though ._.

I bought it yesterday for 9.90 € (6,8 £) and it's very good, I wouldn't pay full price for it though, although there's not much games I would... It's pretty hard to get the hang of it, but it seems very good.
