Original announcement: https://www.nintendo.co.jp/support/information/2016/0331.html In summary, the shutdown will happen in 2 stages on different dates: 30th September 2016 - Can no longer add points to your account 31st March 2017 - Can no longer download software They say to do a system transfer to the 3DS to keep your purchases, DSiWare software will still be downloadable from the eShop.
